I've been busy at work today, sorry I didn't reply but your work is uploaded on NU. Don't worry about the duplicate, they'll be cleaned up later when the staff sees them. This is just a suggestion, but you should probably indicate in the project page on that website that your work is a translation by crediting or showing the source you use. At a glance, I thought it was an original work until I google the author's name and searched the results.
I know some translators are posting their translations in Wattpad. Can we add their translations to the novel's NU page? @Tony
Why can't they? There has been released from wattpad on NU. However, they require manual submissions, which means it will depend on whether there are staffs around to approve them. Also, there are past translators who have rejected or stated that they don't want their works listed on NU. Before submissions, this should be checked. If it's not followed and the translators made the works locked, then don't blame NU on these.
In addition to what the ladyvil said Some translators also post their works both on wattpad and their own site if I remember. So they may already be there
No problem. A reminder if you're adding a bunch of releases, they might take some time to verify and also depending on the staffs availability online, so don't wait up.
Actually...I'm kinda lost here...But I would just like to know where the translators get permission to translate the novels (if they have to), because me and some of my friends are planning to translate some novels from English to Portuguese, but we don't know if the original publishers have copyright requirements or something like that. I appreciate if someone could answer my doubt
NU does not have a say on what is translated or licensed. If someone wants to translate something, they do so by their own choice. If a publisher license something, that is also not related to NU. If you wish to ask for permissions, I suggest asking at the translator's website for them. As for copyrights, that involves legal matters and I have no knowledge of them.
It seems that, i use this website for more than a year already and still, i didn't know how to make group and series..i think that i'm ready to post my novel in November(after finish exam)...i don't want to waste my time doing novel for nothing...can you help me?
NU only accept translation, not Original English novels. To add group, series or releases, you have to access them through your NU profile.
means? Ya i did it already but seems that it need URL of group and series.. Yeah, yeah, i write both Malay and English at the same time...
Of course you need to start a group somewhere first before you can post. How else NU going to link to your translation? After you're done, just follow the instructions as said in the first post of this thread:
Sorry to ask, but, i need examples, i mean like website or whatever it is to make group..i feel like newbies..
Just as a side, if you're adding a new novel but accidentally screwed up the title(ie. typo, wrong title/wrong wording) but already submitted the novel and realized afterwords would it be possible to change in the future(by reaching out to the staff) or would it be kept the way it is unless the title is actually wrong(as in a title for an entirely different novel). Or would the bot/a staff member have caught stupid mistakes like that before approving it? (I feel like an idiot for asking this question though...)
If you're the translator and want to change the novel's title, you're generally allowed to if you contact the mods about it. If you are not the translator, but added it with a typo or something, you should still be able to ask the mods to change it for you I think.
On your NU profile, you can submit a report. Just submit one and one of the online staff would handle it. From: The permanently offline staff.
