My understanding is that those works are pay to read, not in the Qidian sense, but rather in the physical copy sense.... They have bought the rights of the English version from the author or someone who has the authority to sell them. To my understanding, that's how YenPress operates/d ..... BTW, I could be wrong as I don't know the exact relation that they have agreed upon, but this seems the most likely scenario for the novels coming out of japan.... As they has purchased the rights for certain volumes for certain serieses, those should be removed from online circulation to stimulate purchase of a physical copy......
Understood, hence why I asked before I attempted to add it. The comparison for me would be, mangaupdates lists series that Crunchyroll has on its catelog, which is from my understanding "a partial paywall" where some are available and some are not. Regardless they are licensed by CR, a legitimate company. If NU is "information based" then wouldn't it be logical to include the companies that have licensed the work and include a link to the works page on their site? The alternate, at least in my mind to the "releases" would si
If you can read the novel online for free without imputting any password it goes on NU. If you can't do that for any reason, it won't go into NU.
Thank you... I was on the terms of service page...which only has part of that. I'm wondering on the definition of an ad wall release...? So j-novel, Crunchyroll wouldn't be listed either if I'm understanding the above correctly.
J-novel club isn't listed AFAIK. I didn't even know Crunchyroll had novels, but I never saw any from it either. Adwall is if you need to click something and see an ad to see the release, kinda like an adfly link, but without adfly. Adfly is also allowed btw.
Thanks. To be honest I was using CR as just another example, but yea, I don't recall seeing any novels there either. Thanks for the quick responses.
I'd like to ask, based on what criteria should a series be added? I found the completely translated version of said series and am reading it. But it is not currently listed on NU.
>_> what is it? it is asian? It's not an official translation right? (like one that costs money to see or was done by a company and copied by another site)
The Lu Xiao Feng series by Gu Long. The author got about 3 or 4 series of his listed already, though.
*cough* Well, good job @Tony. Making sure translators know what to do to link novels is definitely the best thing to do instead of linking mods to new translator threads. *cough**cough*
step 1: learn a language step 2: find a novel you like and would love to share with us leeche-(cough) i mean very supportive people who can't read said language step 3: set up a web site step 4: find out managing a website is hard and anoying step 5: sacrifice a number of leeches to satan and make him do tech support ( make sure the contract will damn any who steal your translation and post it as their own get eternal damnition) that's basically it, satan is pretty good with tech he can set you up further but it requires quite a few leeches to pay his annual salary
His true purpose is to make people use their likes so they have to spend nuffies for the extra like option in the shop. Evil as always tony~
