Discussion How long do you hold a grudge for? And how do you take revenge?

I don't easily get offended. But when I do, I make sure to get revenge.
So far, the longest I've held a grudge is for 5-6 years, I think.

If the one(s) who wronged me make satisfactory reparations, then I will forgive and forget. If not, suffice to say if ever another instalment of The Grudge is made, it would be about me.

 

I don't know~ I'm usually just ignoring majority of the things around me and I rarely get offended tbh ~
And grudges? I'll forget them in a few hours or days ~

Holding a grudge is tiring for me. I dont even mind if the person didnt apologize ill probably be offended for a while but once they talk to me im okay. Or this is probably because no one had made me that upset to hold that big of a grudge.

 

It depends. Did they apologize? Did they try to make it up to me? No? I continue to hold grudge.

Some grudges take years or even decades for me to let go of. Sometimes, I still never fully forget my bitterness, even if we’ve reconciled. Like when, because of circumstances, I was still forced to get along with someone who did me wrong, even though they liked to pretend the wrong didn’t happen or if it did, they refused to apologize because I “deserved” it. No, no I did not. That was 13 years ago. In another example, I’ve only recently begun to let go of my grudges about the mistakes someone made toward me when I was very, very sick 13 years ago, and acknowledge that they actually did do a lot for me back then, even if they also messed up royally several times. I still speak to that person and everything, I was just upset in my heart. A few months ago, I let them know that I appreciated what they did back then and thanked them. In another example, it took four and half years for me to speak to my ex-step mom after a fight we had. I’m glad I did, but the hurt never fully went away.

As for revenge? No, never really did that.

When there are people on NUF who make me mad, I block them. Makes life easier. Doesn’t mean I’ve let go of the anger unless they apologized.

 

If someone apologizes or tries to make it up to me, then I'll forgive them. But if they don't, then this potato will remember that grudge for the rest of my life, even if I've forgotten the cause of the grudge. This potato might forget the transgressions, but it won't forget the bitterness!

 

Depends on the severity. If its not too much too affect my life, I'll probably be cursing them out throughout night and forget it the next morning. If it is serious enough that I must get back at them, I'll do how ever long it takes.

 

grudge... what was that again?
I belive I used to have something like that, once, in an long lost age. Now my enemies get turned into ashes and tortured for all eternety. After a few seconds/minutes.



Should probably answer seriously. Can't remember holding one for more than a few minutes. Later when I remember what happened I don't hold any illwill towards the person.
There is a big caveat tho, that nothing has actualy happend that was worthy of me holding onto the grudge. Just let the water pass under the bridge and enjoy life.

 

I can hold a grudge for as long as necessary, but I don't take revenge, I just wait for an apology.

If I get no apology, then I just understand that I don't need to have that person in my life anymore.

 

I don't really hold grudges usually, if something happened between me and someone, i'm more likely to just cut off ties with that person or talk less with the person. It depends on the reason i ended up with a grudge though. Idk for sure for how long but i still hate someone, i don't know when it started, quite a few ago years i suppose

 

Insults are useless against me, so if I ever hold a grudge, that means someone destroys my stuffs. I usually demand money or just break their stuffs~

 

Hm..... Nah I don't get offended that much regardless of what others says... But if I do get offended I'll just ignore that person's whole existence

 

Grudges are for idiots.
Grudges like anger is the same as drinking poison to spite others

 

Grudges are tiring. I usually forget about stuff after an hour or day or so. Plus I'm pretty forgiving but I do keep what happened in mind
Fortunately, I haven't encountered any one in my life who's wronged me enough to hold a long lasting grudge. I

 

I've held grudges for a loooooong time!!! I can't remember any IRL ones off the top of my head, but uh... people have remained in my ignore list for half a year already on NUF!!!

 

Isn't it's just you being lazy to not remove them from ignore list???

 

No, it's because I actually dislike them a lot, even now

Just seeing their names remind me of how disgusting some of them were!!

It takes a lot for people to get put in my ignore list (on purpose) in the first place, y'know? It's not just because I'm too lazy~
