Over the last 3 months, I've averaged about 300MB per day, and about 10% of that came from browsers. I have unlimited data though so I'm not careful at all about how much data I use, I could easily keep it much lower if I tried. Text compresses really well, so as long as you block ads and use compression, reading novels will use very little data, 50MB per month should be more than enough for just that.
pretty much less than 100 Mb per day. Using opera mini, I rarely cap 50 Mb, that is with my neet lifestyle (not entirely neet, but still in limbo between uni and work). What is necessary for me though, is to maintain my linux machine and other stuff I do to learn programming. So around 10 Gb per month?
I use around 5GB per month. Use opera mini and set it to extreme data saving when reading novels. It will save a lot of your data and block all those annoying ads. Usually I'll only spend less than 1GB for novels. And I read a lot of it each day. Another 4GB I use for reading mangas and watching anime.
On my phone ~300 mb per month. Around 100-200 mb for reddit (no videos) and 100 mb for chrome (novels etc.) But most of the time I have Wifi access, that is only the traffic while commuting.
Around 5GB, I usually limit watching YouTube after my quota remained 1GB. Using Opera mini with extreme mode + no picture helps a lot in saving data.
I have 200 MB plan and that's good enough for me. I'm usually at a place with wifi, so I don't consume that much data with my phone (well, data from my phone plan, no idea how much I use with wifi.) My phone is kind of crappy so I can't really play games on it and I prefer to read novels in my pc, so I don't use much data. Whatsapp, my email and novels from time to time is all I use my data plan on. When I watch youtube videos on my phone it's because I'm connected to a wifi. I wouldn't do so otherwise. I pay 5 euros a month for it (I should probably change my plan soon, because now there is a plan that has either 500 or 750 MB a month for 5 euros, but I need to pay like 20 more to change my plan so I haven't done it yet.)
Reading and reddit will spend you around 500mb If you reading only all month long.. It was based on my experience.. But if you includes the ads and such things, it takes around 100mb a day..
If the only thing you'll be using your phone for is browsing text-only websites, you can easily get by with 1-2 GB per month. Probably far less, but it's best to err on the side of caution, at least staring out. I recommend using Firefox with an addon for blocking javascript and an adblocker. Using those will further reduce your data usage.
