this is towards the later part of the novel and hasn't even been translated yet so it is definitely a long way from the manhwa

As of ch 86, they do not know, the ones who know for sure are Ellenia and Izek

Izek was about to f*ck this b*tch up but Ellenia showed up and was like "wah this is my nanny give her one more chance". Izek was like "nah this was her one more chance, remember the sh*t she pulled during one the banquets". The head maid has got some balls when Ellenia is around b/c it was described in like ch 81-ish that she straightened her posture and had a more confident tone speaking to Izek when Ellenia was there to support her. She hasn't received an actual punishment and will probably not receive one until much later

Idt they have formally confessed to each other, this is kind of similar to "The Tragedy of a Villainess" where the MC & ML does not confess for a while but it's relatively a fluffy atmosphere and they don't hesitate to publicly show their affection. It's a "other people from the outside can see they love each other but they're both internally insecure" kind of situation so it's not frustrating for the reader

I'm about to smack this b*tch called Lorenzo. He sang a mocking song to MC (the song's contents was about the rumor of MC & her oldest brother having incestual relations) but Andymion had MC's back and fought him. As for Freya, she tries to implicate MC on more than once occasion but thankfully Izek trusts MC and does not doubt her version of events, he's one of the few characters to begin suspecting Freya. He already didn't like Freya and is starting to show clearer signs of hostility in Ch 86. Freya appears more often but isn't as outwardly nasty until late ch 60s or early ch 70s, Lorenzo is not very present (but he cemented himself as a f*cking POS from his first appearance), he's more like the dog sh** you step on on a bad day and only remember it's there b/c of the putrid smell

I think the foot crush was somewhere between late ch 50s - 61? and by then ML has long had suspicions about MC being possibly abused by her former family. There was no specific eureka event in the novel about the discovery of her abuse, it was lingering in the background for a while. He was pissed off when her foot was crushed b/c he was already somewhat aware that MC had a hard life seeing that she's afraid of people but he doesn't know why.

Btw, this novel didn't feel hard to read emotionally, there were some points where i teared up reading the MC's inner monologue but the novel isn't intense or emotionally draining. If I were to have read this thread in advance, I think I would've been deterred from reading this novel but it is actually relatively light considering some of the themes it introduces are heavy in contrast. The most I felt was it made me sad but I was nowhere near yelling or cursing at my phone (unless Freya or her brother was there). The thread is mostly complaints about ML (which idt he as a character deserves to be lambasted for, an irl comparison is he's a boyfriend one of your friends has that you don't really personally care for but you can understand they're not a bad person though they may be childish) or how pitiful MC's life is but that's only a fraction of the novel.

There's been novels where I've dropped completely from reading it itself or reading spoilers:

There were times when i wished you were dead - I hold a personal grudge towards this novel, never again will i read this, very depressing, MC ends up w/ abuser ML ending

the three are living a married life - wtf never again, why does MC have to suffer so much, what's wrong w/ this author

There's another novel- 'I REINCARNATED AS THE UGLY LADY' which I can't even read due to the 'ABUSE and PAIN' the MC recieves....

The ML is such a bastard, mf and i don't even with how many abusive words should i curse him
He literally forcefully took her to his empire and chained her up....Afterwards, the MC tried to run away...So, he caught her again chained her up, broke her wrist literally her bones broke even though she was screaming in pain so that she can't run away...
Basically ML's logic is if I hurt her she will not run away again...he raped her multiple times made her pregnant so that she can't run away...when she got pregnant he didn't even visit her most of the times...

...he even got really angry that the baby didn't look like MC...

After reading the spoilers i didn't even think to read this book ever again though the novel cover was quite beautiful...

There's a lot of inner monologue in the novel where MC applies her understanding of familial relationships from her first life and thinks of how she emotionally survived the family that adopted her her plus she thinks about her ogbody's personality and how to avoid her death flag. She actively thinks what her ogbody would do and then acts the complete opposite of it.

She isn't a crafty tactician nor is she a Mary Sue but she puts in a lot of thought in what face she should wear at the Omerta duchy and how she should act to appear harmless, so people can understand she's not acting under the direct orders of the pope and that she's a separate entity from that family.

Duke Omerta, Izek's father, finds MC and asks if they've ritually consummated their marriage as it's part of a custom that legitimizes their marriage in the North. MC is unaware of that b/c the Northern customs are different from the South so she finds Izek and asks him to go through with it b/c she's afraid that if she doesn't fulfill her role as the spouse, she will get sent back to the Pope's. She's scarred from the relentless physical abuse, or "education" as the Pope likes to call it, she endured at her previous house and thinks that it's better to be ignored and disrespected by the servants/maids at the Duchy b/c at least no one lays a hand on her.

I don't view it as "begging" to be loved or cared for by ML, I viewed it as someone who is clinging on to her present life and trying to get through day by day....she wants to stay alive. She's actually afraid of ML, though he does not threaten her or is particularly malicious to her, b/c she doesn't know him personally & she's just generally living in fear or constantly on edge b/c she's been through so much. Izek is viewed as the "make it or break it" person that could let her stay on earth (omerta duchy) or drop her to hell (Pope).

She also wasn't in love w/ ML at first and didn't think he would develop any affection for her b/c she's the Pope's daughter. She has a pretty good understanding of her situation.

MC is "depending" on ML a lot throughout the story b/c she has no one. Literally no one. In her first life, the sister she was closest to committed s*icide. In her second life, the novel never mentions that she has any friends in the South, just failed engagements, and her "family" was awful to her. When she arrived in the North to marry Izek, she was busy trying to understand the political situation of the household and how welcoming they would be to her. The other person that was her age and was in charge of acclimating her to her surroundings, Ellenia, was also cautious of her b/c this is their first time meeting. She didn't have opportunities to meet w/ other people that were "neutral" or not a part of any factions (which would've made socializing easier) and her interactions were w/ the Omertas and the Brittania paladins (I guess Freya is there but I don't consider her a human being).

MC wants to use the formality behind the institution that is ~marriage~ that binds her and ML together to persuade him to treat her w/ civility. Again, she's not actually in love w/ the ML in the beginning (her thoughts are along the lines of "I'm a good actress, are you fooled by my perfect acting, yea I'm a scammer") she's just acting like she's in love w/ him and laying on the compliments thick in the hopes that if he can at least be duped into believing she's infatuated w/ him, he can side w/ her (the title lol) in the event that she's in a position where someone tries to annul the marriage to send her back.

About the MC, she doesn't seem to have any prior knowledge from her previous life that could help her to make a living on and it doesn't seem like she was formally educated in this life (ex. she has no concept of proper dining etiquette). Even if she was well educated in the previous life, she has no credentials or credibility in her current life for her to be able to support herself on her own. She also has no personal income (or access to finances at the Pope's place).

They don't "ignore" the abuse MC goes through, they really just did not know. ML and Ellenia, compared to MC, had a great childhood, friends and caring household servants. They had more opportunities than MC to be socialized (their closest childhood friend, Freya, is from a marquis family and Izek has Ivan & meets w/ the paladins daily) and the novel does not mention that they met anyone that was in a similar predicament to MC.

If you have not met people that have gone through abuse, you wouldn't know the telltale signs of abuse, you would just think that person is acting "off" or "strange" which is what happened w/ the Omertas, except it also made MC look suspicious to them as well. Both MC and the Omertas don't know each other's personality well and there was a lack of communication in the beginning so it was awkward for both sides to pry into each other's personal lives w/o looking like they were gathering information on the person for their respective sides. Wouldn't it also be weird if someone who is raised by a complete ahole (Pope) does not turn out like an ahole? Her personality confuses everyone in the vicinity when she first arrived, which unfortunately garnered more suspicion.

What's important to note is that MC does not directly tell them that she's enduring abuse. She tries to drop just enough hints to make herself look pitiful but avoids divulging the full story. There was a lot of fear that if she did come out and tell the truth, people would not believe her and she would be gaslighted into oblivion. In her perspective, it sounds like a bizarre, farfetched story for a daughter of the esteemed & noble Pope to have been suffering for years in the background in contrast to people's expectations of her day to day life. No one in the South knew the full truth of the situation. And b/c the Omertas are at odds w/ MC's family, she resigns herself to the idea that they have no incentive in believing someone like her.

Through most of the story, she doesn't seem to have any trust in people and assumes that people probably dislike her b/c of her position as the Pope's daughter, now made to be a bargaining chip w/ the North through marriage.To save herself from the possible rejection, she chooses to hide her pain to seem like someone that can be trusted. Her logic is:

Hide the aftereffects of abuse > block off the possibility of being branded a liar > look like an unassuming, normal, helpless girl incapable of malice > trustworthy.

Izek goes through character development and wants to change how he talks to MC so he can treat MC better and make her feel more comfortable at the duchy. He does reflect that the death of his mother made him indifferent to other people and averse to considering other people's feelings and now that he wants to change, it is difficult b/c he's used to being blunt & straightforward whereas MC needs care and caution when approaching her. He even consults w/ Ellenia about this. There is a chapter (I forget but it is def post snu snu chapter) where his inner monologue states that he's relieved that MC can finally look at him in the face and seems to be less scared of him and he wants it to stay that way.

There were times when ML asked MC directly what happened to her (he saw the scars on her body and asked how she got it but she wouldn't answer, also asked about how the Pope and brothers treat her and no answer) but after seeing the frozen expression on MC's face, thinks it's better to wait and tells her that if she's not comfortable w/ telling him what happened she can tell him when she's ready. MC has not told him or anyone, as of latest TL'd chapter, that she has an eating disorder. Ellenia found out after she saw her trying to induce vomiting and Izek found out through Ellenia. He was upset that she's concealing the pain she's going through but understands that there are probably reasons why she's doing so.

In regards to how badly the servants at the duchy treat her and how Freya treats her, they weren't aware. ML and Ellenia figured that there would be some resistance when MC entered the Duchy but did not know of people who were specifically targeting MC through petty actions or what they did to her b/c MC DOES NOT TELL THEM in fear of being branded a liar.

MC told ML about Freya and he was shocked b/c he did not think she was capable of trying to harm MC (leading her into the monster filled forest) but does not deny MC or gaslight her. ML listens to MC's concerns and decides to be vigilant of Freya moving on. The person who can't accept the changing environment is Ellenia. It's not that Ellenia is trying to deny MC of MC's truth, she's just disappointed that the people closest to her (her nanny and Freya) would be so malicious and hurtful. Izek was the one who told Ellenia what Freya has been doing to MC and got into an angry argument w/ her when Ellenia wanted to refute in ch 81. However, Ellenia is not trying to actively live in denial or blame MC, she's just having trouble processing the true face of someone who's been close to her for most of her life and is disappointed in herself for being a bad judge of character

This situation is not a black and white matter and requires careful consideration to understand the full picture.

What I can fault ML and Ellenia for is their negligence. When MC disappears w/ Popo the day after Freya poisons herself, it took a while for people to realize that MC disappeared. ML & Ellenia wanted to punish people but realized they were just as culpable b/c they weren't active in confirming MC's whereabouts or staying informed w/ how the servants at the Duchy are treating her.

I was actually more frustrated w/ Ellenia b/c her role is to get MC used to the Omerta duchy and make her feel more comfortable. When reading through the story, Ellenia is more preoccupied in keeping a professional distance w/ MC and seems to forget her role.....

There was a scene where Freya poisons herself w/ some monster core or w/e it is in her drink while she's sitting w/ MC to raise people's suspicion of MC. The monster core thing or w/e can apparently attract more monsters to the area and bring some kind of harm to people (that I can't really remember) and Izek freaks out, rushes to where MC and Freya are to "save" Freya.

In the following chapter, it was revealed that Izek didn't rush to Freya for Freya's sake, he was afraid of the consequences of the monster core thing affecting MC and couldn't care less about Freya lol. When it happened MC's face flashed in his eyes and he panicked.

It was a misunderstanding that ML didn't clear up b/c he's going through his 2nd puberty and is ~shy~ about his emotions for MC....

This very long Q&A will make it seem like I'm emotionally invested in this novel, but I don't actually care about it that much, I just care about accuracy and preventing misinformation. I also have time to kill right now.....It is always tempting to reduce a character's personality to fit our understanding but I often think that it's a shame to miss some of the details about the situation if one fails to keep an open mind

The pyscho brother realize the FL love Izek and didn't like it and try to bring back the FL by force. also while destroying the north with monster as distraction after the competition. This was when the FL fight back the brother saying she wont go back and love to stay here and love the ML and said ML can't be compare to the brother. So the brother beat her up with anger, that is when the ML and all her friend break in the private room and saw the scene. Izek was so mad and pull the sword and fight the brother. but the father stop the fight in midway and the brother disappear. Suddenly chaos fall where monster attacking the city just like what the brother plan using some mana stone that make monster out of control including the ice dragon.

MC's foot is crushed during banquet & Lorenzo's scheme w/ Freya (Post #25) under 'Lorenzo' dropdown

There wasn't much plot from Lorenzo. the last thing he did was Freya scheme with him to bring Izek and the other to where the FL and brother stay in the private room that Lorenzo set up at the palace after the competition. Freya want to prove to Izek and other about the FL and brother having intimate relationship(due to the kiss) and that their scheme that fool everyone. This is when they burst into the room and what they saw instead was FL being abused by the brother and badly injured. This is when it shock Freya the most too. Izek choke Lorenzo after the FL brother disappear from the fight but was also stop by his friend and as his punishment, Lorenzo was dismissed from being the Palladin knight.

I am so intrigued by this story. The concept of an abuse victim with a very strong trauma and should be handled with care and compassion, in the hands of a tsundere! it's going to be a slow and painful burn for sure.

I have gripes with people complaining about FL being weak. She's not weak. She's lived her first life full of abuse, which conditioned her to think and behave in such a way to please her abusers so they don't inflict more pain. It explains how she has managed to survive in her second life.

The manhwa attempts to show FL misconstruing some of ML's actions as her PTSD flares up. But I feel like the transition of it is kind of abrupt and not very well portrayed?

I really like the spoiler provided of Ellenia. In that she's just very disappointed in how the people in her life aren't who they are perceived to be and she's trying to come to terms with that (i.e. Her nanny, Freya...)

I just wish they were more aware of how the staff treats FL. I understand that Elle and ML don't know because FL DOESN'T tell them, and it's supposed to come in due time as subtle hints (I mean, ML is already beginning to realize something is not completely right with FL). I just wish it was portrayed better. The angst is painful but I'm living for it.

yeah me as well like this the first manhwa that i really liked in a while cause this the first in a lot that takes abuse and it's aftermth seriosly like mental state as well as i always thought of this ppl who gets reincarnated did they all were well none of them had ptsd or depression .... since i found out about it i've read all i can from the manhwa started to read the novel as well and i'm camping here for spoilers lol

MC has not told him or anyone, as of latest TL'd chapter, that she has an eating disorder. Ellenia found out after she saw her trying to induce vomiting and Izek found out through Ellenia. He was upset that she's concealing the pain she's going through but understands that there are probably reasons why she's doing so.

In regards to how badly the servants at the duchy treat her and how Freya treats her, they weren't aware. ML and Ellenia figured that there would be some resistance when MC entered the Duchy but did not know of people who were specifically targeting MC through petty actions or what they did to her b/c MC DOES NOT TELL THEM in fear of being branded a liar.

MC told ML about Freya and he was shocked b/c he did not think she was capable of trying to harm MC (leading her into the monster filled forest) but does not deny MC or gaslight her. ML listens to MC's concerns and decides to be vigilant of Freya moving on. The person who can't accept the changing environment is Ellenia. It's not that Ellenia is trying to deny MC of MC's truth, she's just disappointed that the people closest to her (her nanny and Freya) would be so malicious and hurtful. Izek was the one who told Ellenia what Freya has been doing to MC and got into an angry argument w/ her when Ellenia wanted to refute in ch 81. However, Ellenia is not trying to actively live in denial or blame MC, she's just having trouble processing the true face of someone who's been close to her for most of her life and is disappointed in herself for being a bad judge of character

This situation is not a black and white matter and requires careful consideration to understand the full picture.

What I can fault ML and Ellenia for is their negligence. When MC disappears w/ Popo the day after Freya poisons herself, it took a while for people to realize that MC disappeared. ML & Ellenia wanted to punish people but realized they were just as culpable b/c they weren't active in confirming MC's whereabouts or staying informed w/ how the servants at the Duchy are treating her.

I was actually more frustrated w/ Ellenia b/c her role is to get MC used to the Omerta duchy and make her feel more comfortable. When reading through the story, Ellenia is more preoccupied in keeping a professional distance w/ MC and seems to forget her role.....

There was a scene where Freya poisons herself w/ some monster core or w/e it is in her drink while she's sitting w/ MC to raise people's suspicion of MC. The monster core thing or w/e can apparently attract more monsters to the area and bring some kind of harm to people (that I can't really remember) and Izek freaks out, rushes to where MC and Freya are to "save" Freya.

In the following chapter, it was revealed that Izek didn't rush to Freya for Freya's sake, he was afraid of the consequences of the monster core thing affecting MC and couldn't care less about Freya lol. When it happened MC's face flashed in his eyes and he panicked.

It was a misunderstanding that ML didn't clear up b/c he's going through his 2nd puberty and is ~shy~ about his emotions for MC....

This very long Q&A will make it seem like I'm emotionally invested in this novel, but I don't actually care about it that much, I just care about accuracy and preventing misinformation. I also have time to kill right now.....It is always tempting to reduce a character's personality to fit our understanding but I often think that it's a shame to miss some of the details about the situation if one fails to keep an open mind

Izek choke Lorenzo after the FL brother disappear from the fight but was also stop by his friend and as his punishment, Lorenzo was dismissed from being the Palladin knight.

That b*tch Freya in Chapter 18 in the manhwa. After that scene some monster helps her and understand her situation, ( i forgot the creatures name). The monster helps her to find the path where the paladin soldiers roaming just to find her. And by the way she got injured and her head was bleeding, and the monster cover her head some big leaves ( i forgot what leaves the monster used). I really pity the mc here cause no one believes her. Our ml got mad to our mc, because that b*tch freya lie to them and didn’t tell the truth. And of course our ml believes that b*tch freya. And I am so mad on him because he didn’t let our fl explain. He decided to let our fl go home in her hometown. And this scene is so heartbreaking our fl beg to our ml to not let her go home. And to fast forward, our fl got bullied a lot by the maids, and other nobles especially the b*tch freya and her brother. They discriminate her a lot. But still she doesn’t care about them. The Ml is actually good. He gives the Fl the respect she is due. She has mental illness and if it were any other man she would have been sent back because she was flawed, He isnt obligated to deal with all her unstable emotions. All that happened to the Fl at omerta is because she is too weak and pathetic. She is always getting trampled on which I understand because of the the abuse but pathetic none the less. Her plan of being harmless just make her look more suspicious, I cant help but cringe at some parts where she is behaving like an idiot. She is always in need of someone saving her. so he sucks in the beginning but he changes his mind pretty quickly if you account for the fact that Freya is his childhood friend & MC is a stranger. If those are the events of ch18 manhwa, then it corresponds w/ ch 18 novel.

in ch 33, after Freya is poisoned by the monster core / magic solution, this is what Izek thought of Freya vs. MC when speaking to Ivan about the situation:

“You think I’m doing this because I don’t know how you feel? I know you’re pissed off because Freya’s been through this, but if you know we’ve been going through illegal guilds…” - Ivan

Later it was revealed that he wanted to send MC back b/c he didn’t want bad things to happen to her again, but he was an idiot w/ his choice of words, and his inner monologue in the later Chs was that he didn’t actually mean what he said about sending her back….. he’s just bad w/ expressing himself this dumba**

a lot of what happens at the beginning (ML not talking to her or visiting her) is due to a combo of lack of communication and vigilance about a possible enemy coming into Omertà territory. I think the negligence part w/ not monitoring the maids / servants is the collective responsibility of Omertà family, not just ML.

I still haven’t read the manhwa but the scene sounds much more inflated compared to the novel?

Not sure if Cesare actually kissed MC (if someone can confirm that, that would be great) bc the TL’d chapters are only up to the part where the Pope family just arrived in the North w/ the delegation, before the tournament starts.

there’s no specific reason Cesare is obsessed w/ MC. Author doesn’t give much details about it, it’s just introduced as “he’s obsessed w/ her”. Picking up from context clues, it just sounds like he’s obsessed b/c she’s pretty, obedient, and easy to control ***he sees her more as a possession than a human being

(Edit: So first time in Manhwa happens at Chapter 61, and it is soooo beautiful, must read. The events leading upto it is from ch 55 so till ch 61, it was 6 week long to get to the scene but worth it ❤️ )

This is right after she recovers from Ice Dragon incident. So, Izek (wearing very revealing clothes here) hosts a banquet for Ruby(FL), where they dance. the spy sent by Cesare to warn Ruby hurts her foot very badly, (she doesn’t see who hurt her though because of so many people). She is in pain and goes to Izek, shouts “Honey!” And sees turtle plates(she has a phobia of them) fells on his lap. Ruby is dying of embarrassment and Iz askes why, Ruby explains that turtles on plate were very life like and Iz finally clues in on phobia and made them remove it and checks her foot and everyone around gasps on how swollen it is. Ruby couldn’t tell when asked who did it, so Izek picks her up again like “chick” and take her to almost complete glass garden. There they talk and Ruby shows few her dance moves on 1 feet that she learnt from ballet in previous life. Iz tries to stop her but is helplessly mesmerised by her. He catches her when she fails the last move because of the hurt toe. They talk about consummating (I can’t remember exactly but the Iz’s father said about fulfilling duty to Ruby which she told about to Iz but because of scar on shoulder blade they previously stopped but now they plan to do it) so first Iz asks Ruby’s personal maid to prepare her bath and holy water in his bathroom, after maid helps undress Ruby to gown/towel & leaves, Izek comes in and washes her hair, helps her clean and notices her more scar on thigh. In confusion, Ruby accidentally makes a splash so Iz and Ruby are completely drenched and Iz again askes her in bedroom later while treating her foot, whether she is okay with consummating marriage. After which …… they have sex ch 62. she hums the song at the end about not forgetting her. Really drives the helplessness and desperation of Ruby.

It’s not perfect with all the details so, suggest better to read it actually.

ML is sht in general. What i mean is that he's not sht as character. It's his personality that is sht, even his sister can't deny it.

According to his sister, he act blunt towards his family but like a beast towards others.

So it's not only FL that he's acting shtty towards at first, rather he's just having a shtty attitude in general lol.

He's got a rude mouth too and he's pretty sarcastic towards everyone.

He doesn't specifically hates FL or targeted her lol. He just treats her like how he treats other. If he thinks his knight looks dumb, he calls them dumb. He's basically insensitive and rude af towards others. That's also how he treats FL in the beginning.

What makes it bad however is the fact that FL is a victim of abuse which amplify the pain and suffering she receives from such insults. The ML doesn't really care about her during their marriage at first, he just leaves the matter to his sister but FL, who wants to earn good points from her husband actively seeks him out and tries to interact with him which let's him hurl more sarcastic remarks and cold attitude towards her. (Everyone thinks Ivan is having disastrous mouth i think ML mouth is far more disastrous that him lol). She even goes with the pretense of "Omg you're so cool i'm in love with you this is fate!"

Now ML absolutely does not believe her BS acting (I mean who would, lol. Kinda funny to see FL thinks her acting is top tier when it's incredibly cringy ) which is why he thinks she's being annoying lol. He is rude but he's still a person with conscience who didn't hesitate to save or help FL no matter how annoying he found her.

The thing is, to Omerta duchy and people of north, FL is someone who lives and grows up being pampered as the pearl of her family. The father/pope even gives her the nickname "Angel of Sistina" to boost her reputation which makes people of the north easily judges her value by thinking she's just some pampered pope's daughter who had it good her entire life. Not to mention the btch Freya multiple of times instigated a conflict between herself and FL which dunk FL reputation further down (poor girl she literally have NO ONE on her side until ML realizes the circumstances around her) simply because when you compare the renowned Lady of the Marquis family vs the intruder from the north of course most people gonna choose the btchy Freya. The btch even took that fact with a pride and purposely accused FL for being violent towards her because she wants to remind FL that no matter how good people treated her, at the end of the day the people would still choose Freya (See how btchy this girl is? She's so ambitious to become a queen but forget the one most important thing a queen must have? Btch basically have no compassion and have the audacity dreaming about being a wise queen someone gives her brain a check please).

ML might have shtty personality but the more he learn about the circumstances surrounding FL the more he's trying to change himself for her sake. Basically your typical ML who go thru character development cause he finally found love lol It's so nice to see him realizing that everything happens around FL was the result of his abandonment towards FL. At least he had the brain the realize he's the one at wrong instead of just shamelessly blaming the servant. Seeing him just apologizing to FL so many times when he finally found her after she runs away with her monster friends (Popo best boi btw followed by griffin and ice dragon) is really satisfying. Everytime he interacted with FL and discover her fear and the fact that his rude behaviour was one of the reason, he kept being reminded and feel guilty of how shtty he was towards her (Lmao yes boi you deserve to suffer).

Man I still kinda like him though. The moment he choose to trust FL and realized his wrongdoings he didn't waste time to apologize to her and immediately makes amend to her.

He effectively seeks advice on how to treat his wife better (Instead of consulting dumb suspicious books like other MLs he just goes to his superior who is married and ssk how to make his wife happy lol). And it wasn't just flattery, fancy dates, and roses. The man actually killed two birds with one stone by trying to make his wife happy AND boost her social reputations by throwing a banquet for her just so everyone realizes that anyone who messes with his wife basically messes with HIM (It's so funny to see everyone freaking out when he brings FL to dance floor lmao even his knights are telling him to trip and drop dead during dance ).

Also in case anyone wondering, btchy Freya means nothing to ML. Nada. Not even a strand of FLs hair can compare. The only reason he tolerate her because she is his sister's friend. He doesn't even think of her as his friend lol. He had told FL he could easily makes her disappear is she wants it just so that FL would not cry anymore (and the btch had the audacity to thinks she's more important than FL ew).

As of latest TL chapter we even see the ML basically roasting and humiliate the btch til color is drained from her face lmao. She tried to instigate and provoke ML about FL relationship with her brother only for ML to cut her off and tell her to STFU. Even when she try to makes excuse and explain about the previous conflict ML does not give her a chance and immediately cut her off by questioning where she finds the audacity to thinks she have the authority to meddle in HIS wife affair (Man the btch got sooooo humiliated lmao i am jumping in happiness seeing her being roasted so bad. ML's trashy mouth finally have it's uses lmao) She even tried to pathetically mock him back by saying he's just like those typical men who changes after they started simping for his wife and he's just like Yeah i am. So what?

I honestly thinks Freya is probably one of the btchiest villainess. It's the fact that she thinks she stands on the right side while FL is on the wrong side and that she knows how to wield privilege and affections of people around her. She's the true definition of two faced white lotus btch. I honestly think she deserves to suffer more than just being a nun but at least she realizes how sht she actually was at the end of the day. With how prideful she is, she probably would remember the humiliation and guilt of being an evil person for the rest of her life.

to be honest Freya is like a delusional villainess, she thinks everyone love her which make her an unrecyclable trash..UGHH, ihate that kind of villainess...CAN'T I ISEKAI TO THAT WORLD TO KILL HER

This is my opinion and not objective spoilers/recounting of events:

Honestly this story isn't my thing. The MC isn't to be blamed for how she cowers in fear and gets panic attacks, it all makes sense and aligns with her past. It's just not enjoyable for me to read at all. If she isn't being stepped on by her maniac brother, she is abused by her maids and her husband's childhood friend etc. I also don't enjoy the "romance" at all. To me, it seemed like it came our of nowhere and she went from faking it or survive to loving the guy. It is super bland. The ML is also so boring and unintentionally makes the MC's trauma worse for a good portion of the story where she shivers and thinks he'll kill her. I thibk he is the worst match for a girl who was abused for 2 life times.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate every sorry where the MC is not OP. Some stories with mediocre female MCs are fun to read. This one isn't. Although the MC is smart, she doesn't particularly do anything to makr use of that. Again, not blaming her since to her pretending to be obedient and dumb is the only way she knows to survive. But as a reader I don't enjoy this kind of story. It seems too gloomy. It took me quite some time to realize it isn't my type since I wanted to give it a fair shot and I kept reading for a long time but oh well, they can't all be winners
