Summary of the first few chapters: The MC is a son of a prestigious family but the family treat him and his mum badly because they look down on his mum because they think that she's a gold digger (but the mum was a famous actress so she's actually really rich and has shares in at least 3 of the top entertainment companies). The MC gives up on trying to get his dad and grandfather's respect, dyes his hair and get earrings and then spends the next few months being a neet at home playing computer games. The mum can't stand watching her son waste his life away like this and drags him to her friend who is the CEO of one top entertainment companies. She gets him a job as an assistant of Ji Mian (the ML). The MC agrees because he's a good kid who listens to his mum and wants his mum happy. The other assistants think that he's some rich kid coming to experience what life is about so they don't give him any work to do. This makes the MC feel frustrated but he doesn't say anything or complain, but has a really bad look on his face and bad aura so they all think he has a bad attitude. The MC has a really simple mind, so all he's thinking, it's understandable that they aren't giving me any work, I haven't proved that I'm capable yet. I should work harder so they'll give me work. He goes out to lunch with the ML and the ML's manager at an expensive restaurant. The ML orders a steak for everyone without consulting anyone. Problem is, the MC has spent a few months eating snacks and junk food so he has heaps of mouth ulcers but he thinks it'll be rude not to eat it so he forces himself too. Because it hurts too much, when he eats it, his expression is like he's eating poop so the ML and manager get a very bad impression of him and think he's rude.
LOL the MC didn't even dye back his hair even with his dad and bro's disapproval, but after he got the assistant job he went and ask his mom whether he should. If he stands out too much beside ML then the photographers would focus on him instead. Oh MC you adorable creature!!!

The dad threatens divorce because he really thinks that the mum married him for his money. The mum agrees to the divorce and gets a lawyer and organises the papers. The dad signs the divorce papers because he doesn't think that she's being serious and that there's no way she'd give up on being the wife of the prestigious Xiao family. Later on, the MC gets a call from his dad because his mum has been ignoring his dad's calls. He tells his dad that his mum is serious about the divorce and doesn't love his dad anymore. Haven't read that far in, and this is still on-going at chapter 49 being the latest in the raw. Mom is described as having gentle temperament, but she's really tough in my opinion. She's the one who got MC the assistant job through her connection. But when the friend ask her whether he should assign MC some work to ease his way in the entertainment world, mom rejects 'coz she wants him to pave his own path. Hopefully the mom gets more likeable in the future chapters. The paternal family are so slimy. So there's something about someone being/having illegetimate child. The guy opened up a company, and when it shows profit and become successful, the paternal family jumps in and claimed it was using their family's money so they have a say in it. The company's share ended up divided among the family and the guy got recognized in the family tree for his hard work. This is also the reason the mom doesn't want to ask the dad for money so MC can start his own company. MC is a graduate of business school, if his business is successful the family would just take it back like what they've done and only left him with recognition. Sheesh.
