    1. I think you might refer to Scribble Hub because Novel Updates only has translated stories. You can upload your story there or on Royal Road. I've only been writing on WebNovel tho
    2. There's no best genre. Choose the one that you enjoy. As for me, I enjoy fluffy romance so I only write the stories in the same genre

You should start your novel with, "It was a dark and stormy night..."

Key points to start a novel
    • Main characters and their background
    • A rival
    • The main goal
    • A World view can start out small in a small kingdom or city then show a part of the whole world view
    • Try to avoid some of the 3rd rate tropes like genius to trash or getting a super artifact
    • Write a novel you will enjoy

    1) start small. By that I mean small cast and scope of world building.

    2) define character principle and value. Your main character should be very well defined.

    3) Contrast your mc with an antagonist. Notice that I said antagonist and not a villain.

    4) set up a status quo. Change that status as the story goes on.

    5) set up a central theme around ur story. Ex: how to train ur drag theme is friendship.

    6) connect all of 1-5 together.

    7) Use set up and pay off strategy.

    8) explore relationships… and I don’t just mean character to character

    9) oh ya I forgot, create the purpose of ur story. Ex: the purpose of infinity war is to gather the stones b4 Thanos.

    10) make sure everything contribute to that purpose. Ex: Hero’s split up and travel places. However they r all focuses on getting the stone. What ever they do is for those stones.

    And I think 10 tips r good starters. :)
Lemme nu if u want more examples

Novel updates is for translated asian novels, so you can't write here but maybe on the forum like some others. Although i do recommend you write in scribble hub (like NU, made by tony) or royalroad.

Which genre is the best... That's on you. Write things you enjoy, spin your own tale. I don't think writing something for major audience will create a good novel if you don't enjoy it

Write one word then two. You'll be surprised by how quickly they multiply.
