    Complete sentence is: 她只能自求多福了。

And my translation is: She would just have to look out for herself and hope for the best.

    What do you think?

It’s about that meaning, but I would say only “she can only hope for the best” is necessary since that’s what the sentence completely translate to.

Yeah, the character was left behind with her enemies. She's the mom. Father and daughter are scot free. Father was the one who said that line.

She would be better off just relying on herself. / The only one she could rely on was herself.

    Or something.

    • She would have to keep her fingers crossed.
she could only pray good luck herself.
    • others/we could only pray her good luck.
