Well I'm just curious as to how you got started reading novels. I got started after I saw the description for one and thought it was a manga, after I couldn't find the manga I started reading the novel and started liking it. After that I started reading other novels and that's basically it.

I started reading novels by reading a novel.

    That's a no brainer.

My progression was like this: I read manga in middle/highschool and enjoyed it, online I found a "manga" called Doulou Daolou and read it. In one of the comments sections I saw something about the "novel" and bluesilver something, found the translation and binged, from there I found Wuxiaworld, and everything after that is history.

Manga adaptation of Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? was taking too long to come out so I caught up to the novel translations.

Then I got bored because they also took too long to come out.

Well, during the summer of 2015, I was extremely bored of waiting for my anime and manga to update. Therefore, I decided to get back into one of my old pastimes; reading. :blobowoevil_horns::blobhero:

Since I didn't want to get the hell out of the house and go to the library, I search online for novels to read. Funnily enough, Novel Updates was one of the first things to pop up beside Wattpad, Bakatsuki, and all those other sites. :blobsmilehappyeyes:

Saw season 1 of Melancholy. Later found that it was from a novel series, started reading it on Baka-Tsuki. Came back for a couple of others, then lots of dead time on reading novels. Found several manga based off of novels, found links to said novels, profit.

That was the translation I read first. Several volumes were already translated when I started reading it, perhaps it was already into the 7th or 8th? Can't remember at the moment. Regardless, just reading other things and waiting for Volume 13. :)

    i started from T.V. watching anime. . .
for years. . .why? because during that time internet is not widespread. . .
then i finally got a pc. . . and then a year or two got internet where i watched anime. . . where? the old crunchy. . . man that aite was fun during those days. . .
then in one of the comments there i was introduced to onemanga. . man that site is also nice during those times. . .
then anime again until megauploads was cracked down. . .
to hell with that. . .
and then there comes spice and wolf. . . got intrigue of what will happen and went to wiko and saw the term light novel. .
the search lead me to the vast site of those idiots. . . .
    yeah at baka-tsuki. . .
then mushoku tensei was out. .
a eye opener that there are also WN!!
then it leads to aho. . .
and boom fount this one during the CD era. . .

I began with manga, nearly 10 years ago. Read somewhere that many mangas are actually LN adaptations. Was curious, so tried some. Disappointed, didn't like most. While looking for interesting LNs, stumbled upon a CN being translated (ST at spcnet).

Then found DD (just started translations), followed by CD (on the newly established WW). Became a big fan of CNs. Then there was LMS which got me hooked on KRNs.

Edit: Actually started with animes (Animax channel) 12-13 years ago. Then looked into their source, discovered manga.
