So it's 3:00 something pm and I just noticed today was or is, men's day. Funny thing is, I don't pay absolutely any attention to holidays in the way that I would know their dates, in fact I just know my birthday's date and not much else in the calendar. Anyways I usually realize what day it is when I search something on google as they usually have the doodles but guess what? No doodles today. Funny despite yesterday having one celebrating the 100th birthday of someone or other who I've never heard of before and I doubt most people would though I admit to being clueless I expected people showing up in a doodle would be renown ones like maybe the dalai lama or Einstein or the pope, you know people who most of the world would recognize. Anyways I was just mentioning it. Happy Men's Day guys.
a day just for us? how quint. though tbf, everyday should be men's day. so unfair that it's only one day out of the year.
*rages* DON'T TRY TO PUSH ME INTO A BOX OF GENDER!!! Anyway, are we supposed to get a cake or something phallus shaped now?
Haven't you read the news? Many feminists stipulates that there shouldn't be a men's day or that it shouldn't be celebrated seeing as how "everyday already is men's day". Instead one should talk about gender equality today!
Just went reading the links thought it was fun I honestly dont care to each their own and so on but im all for asparagus day and butter day but we dont celebrate
But they'll still whine about needing to pay attention to girl's day, women's day, girl power, girl rights and insert every other thing in here. At one point they had a marathon for breast cancer research and men were banned from entering, because it was supposed to emphasize girls supporting girls and girl power...
the existence of a double standard shouldn't mean no standards should exist. Denying a day for men is hardly promoting equality. Everyday is basically white people day but you don't hear me saying all white people should feel guilty about it. also distinction there. true feminist are gender equalists so those people you are talking about are just dumbasses. an example of dumbasses...MEN CAN GET BREAST CANCER TOO.
Only homosexuals though, because the ribbon is pink!!! But yeah, try raising the same amount of support for testicular cancer or something and you won't get the same media vibe going 'WOOOO BOY POWER' , 'sorry but girls can sit this one out, we want the guys to support the guys!'. (imagine the potential slogans though 'to get the ball rolling; soccer supporting research for testicular cancer' although i think you'd get attacked for linking masculinity with soccer) To be honest these people hosting these events just want media coverage and don't really care all that much about the actual charity more often than not.
or prostate cancer for that matter. idk, maybe its the same effect as football fans. you might not even like your team but you just want the other side to suffer loss.
Just a talk about getting your prostate examined or self-examination would feel awkward for people, whereas self-examining your breasts or talking about awareness is a lot more open. (insert: gloved hand joke for prostate exam).
Don't question his/her/its gender fluidity, today is a Sunday, which means football, which means male. p.s. as a side-note , it's funny how your avatar will make people assume things about you like for instance i thought Akki was female and some raging feminist went off on me for being a Chinese nationalist lol.
not that hard to make actually. Just gotta have two round cake pan for the balls, a heart shaped one for the head, and a long one for the shaft. Then slice them just right, stick them together and ice the tops. Easy. i made one for my mom's friend's birthday. Heh, they ate it right good. Even made me promise to put in more cream and nuts next time. Never made it again tho. Takes a long damn time and im a lazy fuck.
I shall refrain from making jokes about this as i feel it will affect my Dao Heart by taking the easy route...
