I’ve yet to see the complete series, yet I’m looking forward to the series finale. I want to see if they choke the ending...I’m hoping the “leaks” are false... Spoiler Jon kills Dani, takes up the black, and Bran is elected king... After I finish TV series, I’m gonna read the books.
You know the book aren't finished right ? And from what I've read on internet until now s8 is not that good :x
If the finale was going to be good, then D&D would not be going into hiding on the premiere of the final episode
Well as small comfort for those dissatisfied with season 8, GRRM wont do a rush job on the books and bungle it I think. HBO should have gone big and ordered 10 episodes instead of 6.
Interviews with Martin has him saying the series ending will be the book ending. I hope so...I mean having the books explain the thinking of the characters would be good too.
I don't think he'll live long enough to finish writing the series. If you look at the years : book and increasing thickness of each new book. We're supposed to get like 3000 pages while he's incredibly unhealthy? Maybe Brandon Sanders can finish it for us, like Wheel of Time series.
I hate to say it, but I like Sanders WOT books... Martin should talk to David Weber...Weber dictates his books to the computer.
I haven't read WOT but sanders is a beast. The amount of books he puts out a year without loss of creativity p.s. Peter V Brett wrote a series on his phone, while traveling back and forth to work lol.
HBO cleared the season for up to 12 episodes. The writers decided to do it in 6 because they got a job on a star wars show.
I know, that the reason why I didn't start reading the book, nothing more frustrating than having a series unfinished... I didn't knew that, but maybe he'll change it if the reaction to the series are really bad (though he need to finish it first ) wow, if I was a fan I would be so pissed :0
Errr...IIRC the "final season" was done all at once, with GoT S7 and S8 being said season...and they split it up...for some reason. *shrugs*
So, I am going to be rude here and break this harmonious and beautiful conversation Spoiler: Don't read, if you have a weak heart
Leaks were correct...I’m just about to watch episode one, season one. I wanted to see ending first. Interesting knowing how things work out, and watching series for the first time.
I doubt Star Wars is the reason for the rushed ending, D&D had been talking about not wanting to do more than 7 season for years. More likely that they set themselves a strict timelimit to end the series on and refused to admit they needed more time to finish the story. Season 7 and 8 is basically just one season with a couple extra episodes that is split in half.
