Resolved I’M trying to remember this one book series that picked up at the library.

Okay I remember reading this book it was a out a young boy found an emerald. The emerald had a snake on it. The kid lived with his mother and sister. The kid family was poor, so he thought of selling the emerald, but hid it somewhere. The kid also visits this old man at the creek, its a place on a hil. The kid job was to deliver something to the old man. The kid was also leader of a gang. He mostly got into fights. I know someone told the kid a story. I don’t if it was the old man, or his mom.

The story went something like this: Wizards and these Tribes use to be really close. The Tribe allowed marriage between them until the was a dispute at the throne. The queen fell in love with a wizard, who ended up betraying her os something. Since then wizards weren’t trusted.

I cant Remember if that’s how the tale went, but that was story that was important much later on. Now back to the Boy. He showed the amaulet to the oldman. The old man told him not to show the amaulet to anyone, and that he should hide somewhere. Later on there wizards that wanted the amulet. They ended up finding that the boy had it. He refused to give it to them. Because he he refused his house ended up getting burned, and his mom and sister died. He went back to his home that was now ashes. Then he dug up the mullet he hid.

He wanted revenge to those guys, and get rid of the amulet. So he went to a store to sell that amaulet, but only the guy told him he cant sell it. He couldn’t sell because it’s unusable, The boy also found out that only could use it, but didn’t tell the guy that. He knew this guy, I cant remember, but he gave him tps and stuff, and the guy also had connections with his gang. he ended up giving the kid a new amulet, and a guild to the academy. The boy wanted to go to the academy to ration,a don get revenge on the wizards. He picked also went with another kid who was his friend. They both end up traveling together to the academy.

There’s like five or six books of this. This alll from the first book. The second book is where we went to the academy. I can’t go into it too much with out spoiling it. I wanna find this again because I haven’t read the sequel of this. But yeah the protagonist ends up becoming a badass, genius, and smart guy. He also really bold, and ended up with the girl he loves.

Oddly this post made me remember a book from when I was 13 or so, it was part of 4 anthologies, so many thanks as now I can buy them and read them all. Probably won't be as good as I remember but nostalgia is persistent.
