The ML is precious, a poor beaten puppy. It took one helluva bad owner to finally make him snap in the OG. An aristocrat with a taxidermy kink. No wonder he latch onto the MC when she buys him and starts treating him preciously.
Edit: I LOVE MCs lines and thought process to an extent. The line where choosing between life or rep/rumors was really strong for me. I honestly felt a bit disappointed with the father, if her previous actions were already beyond understanding but proved to be successful in the end, while I do get his worries in a logical standpoint, MC hasn't hidden anything from him. She bought a slave at an absurdly high price yet does nothing to benefit her (or to be precise, sleeping with her) and is even pampering (or depending on how old Kian currently is, is properly raising him). I can understand his worries IF those worries are your daughter apparently being blinded with the boy's beauty but Kian is being observed by the butler, hasn't been unreasonable himself, and MC still fulfills her job. Worried at the cliffy of ch.10.1, should we expect the foreign queen and duchess to be interested with Kian too? Also... I'm a bit unsatisfied at how she dealt with the newspaper company. Although, I just can't put my finger that the company could do more like band together? (I know this sounds naive, but then again, the explanation here is just MC is absurdly rich to the point she might even be stronger financially than the royal family) Anybody got spoilers on Kian's first spell? or magic moment?
I absolutely adore this story. Olivia is a smart FL who is real badass and while Kian is still a tattered puppy currently, he should be more confident once his real powers awakened. I speculate that Olivia may become a kingmaker in the future to push the 2nd prince to become King and abolish slavery from their kingdom forever with the help of a powerful Kian.
from what i remember... a bunch of wizard assassins from that dickbag prince olivia turned down attacked olivia's and kian's carriage on the way back from the painting exhibition, took out the escort knights, caught up with the two of them when they fled, stabbed olivia in the chest after she used her self-defense magic necklace, and tried to kill kian with magic after olivia told him to run. then kian realizes olivia's kindness really was sincere, and he goes crazy at the thought of losing her, letting out this huge mana storm that marks him as the wizard prophecied to destroy the empire. the wizard assassin that chased kian and olivia down thinks he can defeat kian bc he's just some slave that shouldn't have received any proper training, BUT LITTLE DID HE KNOW KIAN GOT THOSE MAGIC BOOKS FROM OLIVIA so kian knows enough defensive magic to tear through his barrier and kill him with flames lmao.
aaaah i'm loving it so much following this romance, i wouldn't mind if someone with a good heart showed some spoilers of the story hahahaha
