Well I do understand his circumstances but.. he's a tryrant right? He can threat and kill the nobles who has a lower rank but he couldn't attack those who has higher ranks and corrupt. But it's kinda disappointing. I wanna punch those corrupt nobles, empress and ella
means he is not like other ML tyrants, other ML tyrants can even bully other high-ranking officials with just the look of his eyes.

I think your mistaken I read the ending Ella never became the empress, she and the female lead were candidates for that position but Ella had no chance since male lead already decides he wants female lead as his empress.

Uh... I think things were taken very heavily out of context or misinterpreted? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this is what actually happened: Spoiler: Rosaline being framed and Kahir doing 'nothing' Ella poisoned/drugged Kahir with an aphrodisiac and climbed on top of him. He built up poison tolerance over the years though and was able to hold off on it a bit and Rosaline comes and chases Ella out. The drug/aphrodisiac is one of those fictional plot moving ones where if you don't fulfill your desires the aphrodisiac acts as a poison in your body. Kahir orders Rosaline out and seriously yells at her for the first time ever (Rosaline notes she never understood why other people were so terrified of him until now and is hurt) and Kahir tells her not to make him into a horny bastard (lmfao). In protest Rosaline plops onto his lap and hugs him lol. Kahir recognizes that she isn't ready though (something about she still isn't even ready to kiss him, I skipped ahead but I think at this point she still hasn't come to terms with his feelings for her) and has James the escort/bodyguard/knight take her to her room and then proceeds to spend the rest of the night in an ice cold bath while James continuously fetches ice for him throughout the night. Normally the knowledge that Rosaline is next door comforts him and puts him to sleep but now her being next door is poison. As emperor with a lot of enemies he never wants to show his weaknesses, so they silence anyone who was around and refuses to see a doctor but his condition deteriorates and word leaks anyways. Doctors and nobles flock over but he refuses to see anyone and Derek is the one to try to keep everyone at bay. Someone saw Rosaline in his lap or at that night though and the nobles on the Empress Dowager's side (probably) either frame/push it all on Rosaline as mentioned or just happened upon that theory but I think it was a purposeful frame lol, again I skipped and skimmed so not tooooo clear on the specifics. But yeah. So while I haven't read further just yet it's not like Kahir isn't doing anything because his hands are tied but that he isn't doing anything because he's bedridden with an aphrodisiac turned poison because for once in a novel, the story does not go down the route of the ML and MC spending a forced night together For The Smut And Really Bad Plot Device For Relationship Progress lol. I mean again I don't know the specifics of how he recovers and the aftermath of all that including if his hands are tied against the nobles or not but like, I just thought I should clear up some serious misunderstandings people seemed to be having. Honestly is it that weird to have his hands tied to an extent if he didn't recover until MC was jailed with the backing of the Empress Dowager and powerful nobles?? A good chunk of how his character developed after Rosaline intervened as his secretary is that he isn't a monster bloodthirsty tyrant, but more of being seen as an unreasonable bloodthirsty tyrant because he relentlessly tries to fix the corruption amongst nobility (with Rosaline's help and advice deterring him from straight up killing every single dumbass in court and council cause there are a lot lmfao). Sorry that became longer than I intended it to. You have people complaining about novels with Actual Murderer Tyrants and in novels with More Reasonable Tyrants With Realistic Constraints there's literally no way to win lol. Once again I just want to reiterate I only read up to when the nobles start barging/having Rosaline's room searched so yeah just. Wanted to say something haha.
Camping here for more spoilers. Also it seemed that Ella's transmigrated into the novel and got a HEA but once the book ended she lost her marbles with greed for the ml love. She died and got a 2nd chance only to be foiled by fl wmajjaja.
