Does anyone else kinda like how masks are a thing now? I can finally wear a dragon print mask around town and no one will bat an eye. My chuuni dreams have been realized!
Yeah, it's pretty fun walking around in a mask and glasses and a grey hoodie. That bank didn't even blink lol
I was honestly expecting a lot more of these things in the West too... But I was so disappointed. It even took a while for stylized masks to become a thing, and even then, they're mostly just cloth that could barely pass as a mask... I'm still waiting for someone to pull off the stunt of wearing gas masks in public, but probably won't see it any time soon since it's summer and all that...
group of frends of mine went trolling on a subway wearing riduclous masks like the crow doc mask and shit and dragon mask is what i got ordered. most of my uni online this semester tho
You get looked at strangely wearing masks here even if they're plain. Not so much in covid times, but there's still the odd person here and there that would stare at you. It's just not a kiwi thing to be honest. I wear them anyway because I have a crappy immune system, but if I went out with one of those masks I'd probably end up getting meme'd like when we had the anon protests way back when.
I've been wearing "scarf masks" because they're so pretty. Works well and I get compliments too--others are picking up on the trend!
