I was thinking about creating a system for my next work (multiple-work actually), it's not complicated, it just level-system where Mc gain ability point every time he levels up, 2 every time he reached multiple of 10 (max level is 50), no attribute and this ability point can be used to gain or upgrade abilities, which used tree-based method; if you want to unlock the certain ability, you have to acquire this skill first and upgrade it into a specific level, like a job-class final fantasy tactic. Right now I only have two in mind; Physical and Elemental. 1. The physical will lead to several upgrades like super strength, super endurance, etc, etc. 2. Elemental will lead to the capability to conjure and control several elements like fire, water, and further if one or two of them reach a certain point, like fire and rock reach level 7, they will unlock the magma element. now I still have three or four ability categories that still vacant, what do you think should be filled in? If I wanted mind-reading or flight abilities, what do they called?
Alignment, social, crafting & ... Alignment would start simple with good/neutral/evil. Andat certain levels it'll combine with other categories. So you can get Fireball-Holy Fireball-Hellfireball. Also, people with high lvl's can get contracts with high level demons & angels for support. Speccing mostly into alignment can possibly unlocks special jobs like Necromancer or (Dark)Paladin. Social would benefit,or worsen, personal relations and also synergises with alignment. Intimidation, persuasion, buying & selling items. Crafting is straightforward and obviously very diverse. Levling up as a blacksmith helps identify ores & metals you come across while being a Blacksmith-(armourer) would help identify quality armour pieces etc. So resource identification & specialisation for specific item types. Maybe religion could be a fourth one, but that ties in heavily with alignment that they might be too similar.
3. Mind magic. 4. Nature magic. (Gravity, Transmutation, Kinetic and Energy manipulation) 5. World Record magic. Game world system magic (inventory, skill access, monster and object information, etc) 6. Divine magic. Rule breaking magic corresponding to related administrator/god area of authority. 7. Demonic/chaotic magic. Rule breaking magic using outside interference help.
Physical Elemental (1) Mental (2) Magical (as in mana) (3) Spiritual (as in life force) (4) Metaphysical
hmm warrior and magician huh you may add priest aka healer then da trilogy is complete~ warrior da tank, magician da dps then healer is da support~ on offense oriented it will be vanguard, rearguard and support~ you may also add da researcher or hmm creator path such as item maker be it alchemists, blacksmith, chief ect for action oriented that two path only cover offense and defense still lack on support department support shine on team if your world focus on individual theme no need to think about it~ hmmm maybe heal is ok be it warrior path with regeneration or magic with heal, cure, buff and debuff spell
Alright, I think I have several new ideas; Physical; super strength, super defense, super endurance, super speed, super reflex Elemental; fire, water, wind, earth (lv 10; lightning, blood, wave, metal.) additional for elemental; fire + water= mist, fire + wind= unknown, fire + earth=magma water + wind=ice, water + earth=wood wind + earth=magnet Mythical (summon); undead, hell, heaven, beast. Rascal; clone, toxic, vanish, disguise, hypnosis. Arsenal; Melee, Range, Grenade. Spiritual; Heal, cheer, terror. Mythical and spiritual telekinesis and psycho can be done with wind, esper is a good name crafting is arsenal, social is a good idea, can add ability such as charm, speech, and other talents, maybe singing. spiritual and mythical, I don't know about the curse or future prediction tho, but both are cool abilities. the idea of having 'video game' ability is cool, for example; checkpoints, fast and back- forward, alter. what is metaphysical? not really job-esque, more like esper type, or metahuman like the flash.
No they can't. There is a big difference between psychic powers like telekinesis and wind. While the result may seem similar to moving objects, the actual implementation is different as one applies direct force while the other one applies indirect force. Wind leaves a trail, if I block the trail of wind by closing the door, there is nothing you can do. With telekinesis, even if the door is closed you can still move the object behind. If I have an item in my bag, you can't steal it with wind, but you can with telekenisis. Just because using technology may seem like magic doesn't mean it's the same. 2 things can have similar end results but work completely differently.

I get it, I appreciate your explanation, all I am saying if it just simple pull and push, the wind element can do it, so it's redundant to have telekinesis, besides. normal telekinesis requires eye contact with a certain object or people, so if the item is in the other room that had thick-soild wall, or let's say a wallet inside someone's bag, it's not possible to manipulate them, its only advantage against the wind is that, as you said, it directly affects the object, while the wind is just the medium to finish the task, if the medium cannot reach the goal, then it definitely fail. in game-based or several novels, but Mythical here is summoning myth creature.

Ouch. I felt that. Let's not outright call them delusions; assumptions are okay, but defining it as the delusions of greats who founded modern human civilization today... is disheartening and nihilistic in my view. Keeps yours, free speech and all, but at least have tact about it.
