The artist does an amazing job when it comes to details, hair, clothing, gorgeous! But... Perspective on size differences between kids and grown ups... Makes this a little difficult to guess their age. Adults look MASSIVE in comparison to them, so I'm not sure about ages.

I don’t know what story you were reading but it wasn’t this one lol. Literally they only married for political reasons and had nothing to do with each other. Both Father and his wife are in charge of their own duchies. Her step brother is heir to his mother’s duchy and FL is her father’s her it’s already been explained for the past 14 pages what happened with the father.
He had more to do with his new wife and did more for her than he did MC's mother and MC. He even made his wife's son his heir. In the original timeline, years after the mother died (no sign of MC's dad) the creepy uncle basically was going to force the MC to marry him and have an incest relationship - AGAIN NO SIGN OF THE "Father". "Political reasons" clearly are more important and take priority than taking basic care of his own family. Any excuse the author will try to spin to justify the father's negligence and abandonment won't spin considering how proactive he was to marry straight after the MC's mother died and taking care of his wife's child before his own. The MC had to find her father rather than him find her. Think about that.
