so an act of stealing noble's house name and the rank equal to someone who masquerade a noble despite not to be one and claiming the rank despite never been bestowed by king to them or their lineage is punishable by death

 

Status for nobility is a big thing. Especially since that family name granted him land and taxes from that land.

The kid walking infront of a carriage for royalty almost died for it. What do you think would happen when someone marries and then kills off the main family members to take over their title and land that the king granted them. Thats basically spitting on other nobles and the kings face.
