Is he the typical ML that's cold on the outside but actually cares for the MC? or is he just regretful after the regression took place because he didn't care about her until she died. ML is really hope this guy's redeemable then.

I am sorry but i couldn't continue because i feel like the girl is just being a dramatic, and love being hurt.
I mean, if you know the guy hate your gut, it's a wise decision to not jumping to a marriage and don't expect like oh i am going to make him love me with my eternal love which is too naive for me.
And i don't want to siding either of them, but i will feel upset (from the man perspective) if i have to married some random person.

But what i don't like with the man, how cowards he is to reject the married in the first place, and make their life a living hell, by being rude, the least he can do is behave like a civil human being but nooooo the man is just nasty petty, and a man child.

Well i couldn't blame him, when the mc addicted with sadness, victim blaming (?) , and delusional.

 

I read the first 25 chapters, it's not that bad but it's not that great either

-to be fair even though she is annoying, the birthday scene was sad. She wasn't demanding anything. She was hesitating and trembling through out the entire scene. She just wants him to know it was her birthday, she was starved for affection. He was her husband not a stranger. He stops working when he hears it was her birthday and asks her to say what she wants. It was only then that she asks if he could say her 'name' once and then he asks her not to disturb him.
-when she hears him call her name in the new life she thinks God is cruel and says that she would have died earlier if she knew this would happen. Ml asks why she is talking of death.He embraces her and she thinks something is wrong with his heart beat.
-In the past life after her death, Isabel and Ml tried to turn back time. He sacrificed his life for that. He kept remembering her in her green dress which was the color of his eyes.He kept drinking inside her room. After the time travel he is again distraught to see that she remembers everything. He thinks that if she finds out he is sick and tries to cure him, she will realise he has his memories too and will hate him

-Jayden is a knight, who grew up on the streets with Hazel as a brother. Once in the past she has gone to a party and seen all the ladies having escorts. She told this to ml, but he says that he is not her parent. She is sad because she was just sharing what happens in her life
- fl visits Isabel(her teacher). She tells her about the past. She was sick and her healing abilities were fading away . Isabel says that time travel is costly. Fl thinks back to ml's heartbeat but doesn't believe that he would risk his life for her. Later ml also visits Isabel. It is revealed that he took her help to perform the time travel magic and now she is giving him the mess for his health.


-the leads have dinner, ml is smiling and making small talk. He arranges for her favourite food. She is uncomfortable and finally asks him to stop. After the dinner he hands her the wedding oath to sign. She won't be included into the family tree without submitting those papers. In her past life she didn't know about that until ml's mom asked her about it.Ml said it wasn't important and that he could ask the butler to arrange for those paper. But nothing happened , so she had to ask him again before he agreed. She thinks it was unfair since she didn't even insist on the marriage. In this life she refuses to sign and says that they should break up since she finds being a duchess restrictive and wants to be with someone she loves.she says that since she is not in the family tree he can easily marry someone else. Ml says that she can have anything she wants but she cannot marry.She thinks that he was trying to save face. She agrees to sign the papers later as it wasnt urgent. She then checks the ml's health and finds his heart beat normal.

-she decides to go to Poseta to heal people, in reality she just wants to leave the house. Ml is worried as that place is quite unstable but wishes that she will enjoy doing what she likes . She wonders why he is being so gentle and sad.

-Emily was fl's maid , who had left before her death to look after her sick brother. Fl says that she will heal her brother and to not tell ml about their conversations. Ml asks Emily to spy on fl. He says that he will repair her house and that fl will go to treat the brother. Emily feels guilty for lying to fl

-Fl hated the rain because of how hard it made her life on the streets. However once, the voyeur that she is, she sees the Ml wearing a thin shirt riding a horse in the rain. She wonders how it will be to enjoy the rain like him. She starts to wear thin dresses and wait for the rain. She also starts to document about the Duke in her journal. Now she wants to go back to hating the rain (man, this part was cringey)

-ml had followed fl to the Poseta. He wants to beg her for a chance to be a better husband. There he saves her from pirates who have captured her. When fl wakes up, she sees him almost in tears and asks why he is there. He answers because she is there. He tells her that he killed the pirates and collapses before her. Fl's magic doesn't work because she is too afraid.She is worried as he had never fallen sick. His knights tell her that he got injured while charging recklessly into battle. She wonders why he would behave like that.

-As she heals his injury she suddenly sees flashes of his past. He is being hit and abused by his mother. She is shocked and starts to cry. Ml wakes up and asks what happened. She asks him to tell her his story so that she can understand him better ( she thinks it will make her resent him less). He says that his magic powers made him attack his mother causing her to lose her legs. His mother always blamed him. He says he deserved what happened to him and that's why he always tried to obey his mother. He doesnt want fl to cry for him. She thinks nothing excuses abuse.

-fl wonders if she had expected too much from ml and clung to him. She is reminded of the time in her past life where she had broken down in front of the employees and asked him to try to act like a normal couple. He had looked bored and told her that she just wants attention. He said that they were strangers who did't have to care for each other. She thinks that his past is his and she isn't responsible for it.

-she magicks ml to fall asleep. She tells him(he can still hear her but can't move), that she loved him but is now tired. She can't love him anymore.

In the past
-the previous Duke loved Sarah who was quite sickly. Being a healer, he tried hard to heal her even when she said that he should marry someone else for a heir.. Sarah almost died during the delivery. The Duke wanted to kill the baby and save her but she begged him not to. So he gave away his life to save the baby. Sarah hated ml because of that. She told him to not show any emotion and work hard to take over the man he killed. She told him that he has no reason to be happy and should use the life he stole wisely. He was always hit but never allowed to go to a healer( the mom told Fl that ml had never fallen sick). The servants were also beaten when they talked to him.

-one day while talking to his mother he suddenly imagines a monster in her place. He screams and there is a flash of light. The next day he sees Isabel who explains what happened and tells him to keep his magic a secret. She also tells him that it wasn't his fault( this is the first time he heard something like this)

-once when riding in the forest ml sees a tiny child on the ground.Seeing her suffer makes him feel a sense of unity. He removes his wet shirt in order to carry her (he wants to transmit body heat and all. This is too creepy as he keeps calling her a child and he is much older at seventeen). He takes her to his house. His mother is delighted to see her and sends a letter to Isabel. Learning about her abilities make ml think that he is still alone.

-He tries to avoid Fl but she keeps sending him letters,meds, and cookies but he never tastes them. His mother is now obsessed with her and stops hitting him. He is about 30 now and wonders why his family-obsessed mother has refused all proposals for h. She then tells him that he has to marry fl.

-he meets fl who says that she didn't dare to be the duchess. She talks about how grateful she is to the duchess( even though he saved her life). SHe says she wants to have kids in the future. This jolts him awake because he thinks his child will be a monster too. So he decides to make her not love him, so that she can then run away from him

-the perfume she had used was too strong for him. The reason he had reprimanded her for wearing the clothes she wore was because he didn't want anyone else to see her like that. He didn't want her to have an escort as he didn't want her to be attached to anyone in the mansion. He didn't like Fl's closeness with Jayden. He scolded the employees who were rude to fl. He didn't want fl to see his body or notice that he couldn't taste anything. So he avoided sleeping and dining with her

-he feels guilty as he made her cry on her birthday so he lets her take him on a walk on his. On seeing her innocent smile he decides to stay away from the mansion as much as possible and ask his servants to not mention fl unless it's urgent.

-After fl's death, ml feels hopeless. He woders why she didn't stop loving him. He blames himself for killing her just like he killed his father. He Stops eating and sleeping. He finds the letter she wrote to him and cries as he reads it. She writes that she doesnt mind if he thinks the letter is annoying. She tells him that she fell in love with him at first sight. She apologises for being selfish and not taking his feelings into consideration She tells him that her death isn't his fault. She fell ill because she didn't use her powers properly. She tells him that she loves him and hopes that he is now free.

The novel is ongoing on Ridi at 64 chapters. It's quite easy to use ridi, so do so if you can

 

The summary in the description of the novel made me think that FL was a bit weak. Was my guess wrong? For those who have read it, if I'm wrong please let me know. I want to read it but I'm afraid FL is a weak and naive person.

I like that the cause of his suffering because of the lose of the 'unexpectedly' loved one

I’m sorry but whenever I see a wavy white haired fl with purple eyes,who is also crying and looks innocent ,I immediately get repulsed…..(trashta)

 

Is this story basically the same as 'I Don’t Want to Be Loved' ?

Also it's hilarious that this title can get easily confused/mistaken with 'I Don't Love You Anymore'.

Yeah at least ML suffers. I quite enjoyed the story about ML who suffered a lot because of his regrets
