    I recall a old anime about a section chief(titlejas that words). Section chief got transported regularly to command the future ships but with metal music.

    The only thing which sorta resembles a full scale battle is the very last part of The Earth is Online. No warships or tanks or whatnot, it's people with their wits and sticks and stones against OP bosses. It's not really battle plans and whatnot, but if you like logic games, mind puzzles and brain teasers, it's a great novel for you to pick up!

    The yaoi made me hesitate too, but really, the bl is pretty low key. There's like 3 quick kisses in the whole story. And the actual sex scene only happens once and it's like a paragraph long with metaphors instead of explicit stuff. It's honestly very bearable even if you don't like bl.
