Discussion I want to read about a legendary carpenter...

I'm currently reading The Rise of Otaku, a slice of life system novel where the MC suddenly sees the hidden world of ACG (Anime, Comics and Games) through his glasses. Anyway, in that story there's a god-level carpenter beaver and it got me thinking about novels with non-combat professions.

While the main characters in Legendary Moonlight Sculptor and Overgeared are considered non-combat classes/jobs, they're fighting power is through the roof. One could only be content with the snippets of sculpting and blacksmithing that happen. And I dunno, I just want to read about a unique non-combat class doing what a normal non-combat class should.

Tbh, I don't know what I want to say... Ig it's time to binge slice of life novels...

Also, not really asking for recommendations. I'm only doing a mini-rant. (But if you have one, feel free)

 

There is one about a female who forges things...I think..
She wears something like a huge metal bucket on her head

Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyusoukyoku? I mean somewhere in the middle he basically became a travelling chef if I remember correctly? Godly pwoers yes but also very slice of life

 

There's a decent amount of crafters in (VR)MMO Game novels, but most of them have significant parts of combat by the MC as well for various reasons.

One simple reason is funding. How the hell would the crafters get the funds and resources to become better crafters if they're unknown solo players without fighting?

And even if they do somehow manage for themselves, they usually only craft their own equipment or for a select few, thus somewhat known by some, but nowhere near 'legendary'

 

It depends on how it is handled. You can have a non-combat support class while those around them are OP combat due to the MC. Kind of like maestar where he builds OP androids.
