Discussion If you were an MC, what kind of weapon would you carry with you?

I really admire the weapons in Asian novels. Specially long swords, daggers and shields. I love their descriptions about how they look and their cool abilities. It’s like they use everything as a weapon as long as they can handle it...like fans, flutes, needles and even umbrellas! Can you believe that? I can only use it to drag someone by the neck or leg tho..hehe~

But I want is a gun that can be transformed into many different forms, like rifle, sniper, rocket launcher, etc and able to carry ammo and specialized types of ammo within itself so it doesnt need to reload. Probably not viable until scientists figure out more advanced compression tech tho..xd

So mates, what kind of weapons is your most-wanted?

 

My teacher's chalk ..it always reaches it's prey's forehead and is very powerful to irritate someone

 

Either a soul weapon or a liquid metal weapon.
Those things seem fun.

Other wise, yeah, a transforming gun with fifth dimensional storage capabilities are fun

 

I think baseball bats look really cool, I would want one to just swing around and make cool poses with. Pretty boring compared to many other weapons probably, but at least I could carry it with me without getting too many weird glances and getting the police called on me.

 

I would like to carry a Yeoui like in God of High School manhwa. It can do defense, offense, short and long-range attacks. I also like to have any kind of weapon that has consciousness in case I'd be reborn as a lonely protagonist and it would also help me on the battlefield. And maybe a scythe would look cool but as far as I know, there isn't any protagonist that uses a scythe as their main weapon so it certainly would be different.

I always like cool weapons with high appearance value. Right~ weapons have that too!

The scythe dance where Naka used Soul in Soul Eater is really cool, but I like the scythe to be the one in Pandora Hearts. The one b- rabbit held. It looks cool when Oz is the one weilding it. esp, those chains that appeared everywhere.

I always like Scythes. Those special abilities behind them is awesome. Scythe weilder have lower defense than other weapons.

That's why, I like Oz's scythe where he can condure chain whener and it can became the defensive barrier.

 

I guess the three things I’d look for in a weapon like that would be that it scales with my power growth, can be hidden, and is versatile.
Since liquid metal and soul weapons have already been said, I’d say something like a sword with enough weight to bash someone and special sharpness to cut through armour. Bcs in my amateur opinion the best thing about the sword is it’s versatility, and its nemesis is good armour

It would depend a lot of if it's about normal weapons or magical/futuristic weapons.

For instance if we look at normal weapons the usual kit of a viking for instance when they went raiding was usually a sword, axe and a bow. While the sword is usually idolized and romanticized in stories while also often said to be the supreme weapon. The axe is infact a lot more handy being usable in many situations in battle but also outside of battle. For instance the axe while raiding by the vikings could be used to tear down doors and defenses, while also useful in building defenses cutting wood for making stuff and so on. The sword on the other hand would often fail or be very cumbersome to use in these situations.

So if were looking at pure combat I would probably use a sword or a spear but if were looking at the overall picture I would probably carry an axe. A bow or a crossbow would probably be a must as well for ranged combat or hunting for survival.

So in short my set up would be sword/spear for combat and an axe for combat and situational stuff a hammer could also fill multiple sittuations in and outside of combat so that also a viable option. Outside of that I would always deem to carry a ranged weapon like a bow or crossbow.

If were looking at magical weapons and so on I would probably prefer a transformative weapon that was bound to me and could be hidden preferably inside of my body like liquid metal or something like that that could be stored inside my blood or under my skin. Then called upon when needed and hopefully also work as protection while not being used. While guns are useful unless it was being powered by mana or just have ammo apear out of nowhere I would probably prefer a slingshot that would allow me to use any stone or debris I find as ammo.

But yeah could just go on and on with topics like this....

 

I would want something like Kusanagi from Naruto
A good long dagger or short sword that can expand by my will and is indestructible as well as super-sharp.

 

Guns. For melee I'd choose polearms or swordstaff. Swords have been too overrated through popular media.
