So I've spent the past two days binge reading The Amber Sword and I found it extremely enjoyable. The combination of kingdom building, armies, and a (not too op) mc who is able to strategize rather than simply use brute force to solve all his problems was intriguing (in the sense that he used his knowledge of the game). Also the way the story flowed was not forced. Unlike many CN's the mc wasn't randomly meeting arrogant 'young masters' in restaurants but had a dedicated and focused enemy. In short I'm looking for an mc that makes logical decisions, has a good mind for strategies and a story where the author doesn't introduce side characters just to **** them over...then their fathers...then their entire clans. Spoiler: Spoiler For example, Brenton (not the mc, Brendel) could be considered one of those arrogant young master's. However, you later find out that he is willing to sacrifice himself for the countries citizens by leading a charge against the enemy to buy time for the people to escape. Incidentally, he also became one of my favorite characters despite the few times he showed up.
