How was he a loner? Sure he went batshit crazy sholar/alchemist mode to deal with his inability to cultivate and such. But it has also shown/mentioned that he had tought many disciples so how is he even remotely a loner? Also has as far as I can tell a pretty good relationship with his father (other family afaik not mentioned) so how is that in any way indicative of being a loner therefor a virgin? It wasn't mentioned that he had a lover/wife but that could be because of a whole emotional drama that stems from his Yin Constitution and his children would have that as well.

There's different type of virgin mc.
There's the dense virgin mc for the previous generation jp novels' mc.
There's also mc with innate virgin body like meng hao or qing yu.
and lastly there's the innocent virgin mc like Long Hao chen and Ye xiao from Realms In The Firmament.

Now this ye xiao is funny in that he remains virgin because in his past life he want to cultivate the pure yang to highest state so he never have a girl (although there's a yandere that self proclaim her as his wife after he died). Thus due to little to no interaction, he has the innocence of kid in terms of relationship.

Actually, the reason why he remained like that was because he couldn't give his future wife a child, this was the side effect of his reincarnation technique.
