So my government just managed to piss me off while being over 7000km away. how? ill try And explain. so im currently in china for nearly two years. because of politics and some retards being retards while in china, getting a visa is almost always an uncertainty. so 3 weeks ago when i had to leave And make a new visa, i decided to send some of my stuff back home to my mom so she can store it. either because they are too big to fit in my suitcases or are just not used at all. 4 things actually. a giant Pikachu plushie. (a gift from friends) a box filled with pokemon cards. (yay) a small wooden box with decorative papers. (its my weird hobby of buying stupid stuff) my old nintendo switch in my new nintendo switch box (lets go eevee edition). i thought sending those things is simple matter, aside from the cost of shipping due to the size of the damn plushie. until today when my mom recieves a summon from the croatian customs (my country). apparently my government changed the laws so that you cant even send your own stuff back home. And you have to pay 38% of the estimated value which i have to prove with receipts and shit. as if i fuckin keep a receipt of a 2 year old switch. a plushie that was a present, or damn pokemon cards (AS IF YOU CAN REFUND POKEMON CARDS DAMMIT) so now im pissed off to the extreme. what retarded law did the assfaced government implement while i was away. jesus dunking satan it just makes no sense. tl;dr for some. i send some stuff home for my mom to store because i have too much stuff. government/customs of my country blackmail for money for no sane reason other than to steal ugh im ticked off. any other country as retarded as this or?
I think most places have weird situations with international post... I do sympathize with your plight. I send some stuff to/from my parents quite often, if it does get delivered (which is not 100%) they have to pay tax if I write more than 1 dollar equivalent on the postal form (or the whole box needs to be less than 100.- ), even if it’s old clothes or whatever...
dude. ew. she is a retarded witch. first thing she did once she became a president is to enroll into an university to "further her education"
I don't know, my country is one of the world's corrupt countries, so I think my stuff would get stolen and given to their children.
i wrote 0 on value because China Post didnt want to take responsibility. And i really didnt care at that point
The Chinese government has always been bs. I’m chinese but grew up in England. Whenever I see or hear news about the Chinese gov I’m always glad that my parents/ grandparents didn’t stay there.
Like the vote of brexit and trump... Also maybe the problem is the international relation between your country and china. Except if you got an acquaintance who go to other country and have the same problem to confirm it
I'm in Lithuania, and I'm not sure if this is the same but we do have to suffer some harsher restrictions for importing stuff from non-European Union. If you're ordering something from outside EU for example, and that something costs more than 22€, then it most likely will be stopped by Custom and you will have to pay additional tax which is a percentage of the price of that product. It also seems that those laws have been tightened recently, because such services as Ali express and Wish.com when sending stuff over from China have been cheating customs non-stop with fake price receipts ect. So it's possible you're inadvertently suffering as consequence from that. It may be possible to walk-around it like marking the package as a "gift" which gives higher chance of customs not checking it and not imposing additional tax on you, but I make no claims. I myself ordered some more expensive stuff from Japan, some of it was stopped in customs, while some wasn't, it's a finicky matter.
