My name is just my aunt's middle name, and my middle name is just my other aunt's middle name, and my last name is just my family's last name. And my first name is pretty common. So I'm not particularly attached to my name. It's good because it works. But even when someone has called me a different name, or nickname, I don't mind, as long as I can recognize it, as long as it works, (and isn't insulting) then it's good. When I'm playing games I like to go to behindthename.com and find a name with a nice meaning for my character (or, in CK2, my character's kids). At first, I did it just because it was fun to try to find the best fitting names, but in at least one game, my most successful characters had names with 'carefree' meanings, so in that game I now choose names for good luck.
Necro-ed thread btw... Oddly my real name is the russian form of a Christian apostle. I also have two middle names(one from each of my grandfathers)... or least was supposed to but one of the governmental offices (SSA) decided that I only needed one middle name so they tacked my first middle name to the end of my first name... so yeah, I now have a slightly off first name like Joe-Bob, Cletus-Joe or Sarah-Lee xD Best part about my name is everyone keeps mispronouncing it, it's almost never the same twice, it's also rather longish which only makes it more so fun to listen to them struggle.... xD Favorite anagram for my name is Renewed Legendary Evil Anyway, think I've already shared to much, so I'll end this here.
