Hi I'm Art an author and a translator. Recently I've just opened a blog to translate Indonesian novel. I've submitted a novel and a new tl group which I'm quite worried if there are any mistake. Currently I'm translating an Indonesian novel called Purple Eyes. It's nothing original but it's quite good to read if you've read too many xianxia and need some romance story. It's a romance of a ghost and human. You guys can relax because it's a short novel and I'm planning to release a chapter a day. English isn't my main language and currently this is a one man translation project so please tell me if you find any grammatical mistakes or typho. Actually... I'm from Indonesia... And never heard bout this novel before... Want to read it, but my heart actually can't take it...
I'm still wondering wheter I should translate Ilana Tan's novel or not. I'm just too lazy to delete my translated chapter if someday Ilana Tan's novel which I translate got an official translation.
No it's not about a detective... It's about revenge well kind of, honestly I haven't finished reading it I just bought the novel yesterday'..
Well... Most Indonesia 'fiction' is either travelogue (with Muslim background to attract a class of customer), humorous book, biography (semi-dramatized)...... Well not really 'fiction'-like, right? There some romance genre that seems nice... But I honestly don't have time reading 200 pages while standing... (why buy books if standing 3 hours in Gramedia is enough)... There is dearth of Indonesian local fantasy... (no, the Supranatural stories about Jins, pocong, kuntilanak, tuyul, etc, didn't count).......................
sorry I'm not too well known with Prisca's novel so I thought she was a new writer... Honestly the romance novel market competition in Indonesia is quite messy.
good luck~ IDK about current novel trend~ is teenlit still popular? wanna try translate Supernova series? that pretty good~
Yeah... but honestly I don't like free reading at Gramedia. as an aspiring author I think that's not a good thing to do if I want to be a famous author. I don't really like novel with muslim background cause I've read that genre too much and I even spend 6 years on Islamic boarding school. I plan to translate Indonesian wuxia-ish story next time
you know how our people work right~ late or later till goes one day~ GO TAKE WIRO SABLENG ask yukkuri onisan for raw~
Oh .. I see.. Thanks for the information.. Well.. Indonesian novel is more focused on romance or religion.. rather .. I haven't find one who doesn't focus on romance or religion these days..
