Disclaimer: I don't have any knowledge in any aspect of music, so, you might cringe reading this. So, well, I realised how all wind type instruments were just a whistle, with just different surface area. And that led to the realisation that all musical instruments involve either a whistle, or banging a flat surface or a string, Are their any instruments apart from this? Not counting the synthesizers
Not sure, does software that can produce sounds count as an instrument (It is made for notations mainly) XD?
winds percussion strings electric there isn't really much to say also, I cant think of any other ways to make sounds.
percussions are those where you touch something against another something to make a sound and example would be the drums, gong and xylophone among many others.
That's because sound comes from vibration, different instrument comes from the different way they vibrate. Vibrating strings, vibrating membrane, etc. There are 4 types of musical instruments based on how they produce this sound that comes from vibrations, such as aerophone, and the other 3 I can't recall the exact names. Then there's electrophone, where the sound, whether it's produced by conventional or electronic means, is amplified electronically. Like this one, electrophone: Any innovation outside of this 5 types... might be possible? But nothing so far
damn why do you know so many unconventional instruments I dont know how the sound is produced (probably vibrating air in the glass while the glass is caressed) so I dont know what instrument exactly it is. Maybe I'll classify it into percussion or something but I may be wrong
it's played by running moistened/chalked fingers along the rims of the glasses the glass vibrates and that makes sound what about the hydraulophone?
Board/Chalk scratching/Drills etc - It aint exactly music, but it is not string based, it is not air based and it is not banging a surface. Maybe some weird chemical rxn based instrument?
