you see, I dont know which is ahead rightnow interms of chapters or toe story so i would like to ask.
    1. currently, between LN and WN, which has the most chapters so i could continue reading "shield hero"
-i dont really have much knowledge about these things so id like to ask you all, i was only able to finish watching the anime season 1, i kept on repeating it while waiting for season 2. but right now i just want to read the story which after Cal mira Arc. so what do I do? where do I go to continue reading it. 2. is there a web novel, LN, or comics??

    3. let say there is both a LN and WN, is there a difference in the stories contained in both types? i mean are there any changes in LN compared to the WN and vice versa?

Er... what are you talking about? The series is finished, there is no "ahead" or "behind" any more? You can find the series in the series finder option.

The LN has been licensed so I haven't read it, WN has been translated completely though. Been a while since I finished reading it, so can't help you find where you should start reading from.

WN has been translated and the LN is beaing released by one peace books. I'd recommend the Ln. The Wn is a rough draft and the Ln is really better fleshed out and has more content not in the Wn.

The LN is way different from the WN. It changed differently after Calmira Arc.
Not sure but i havent seen a translation of the LN here. But theres the WN somewhere.

Or better yet, read the manga.

@AutomaticAutumn what i mean is that i dont want to wait for the season 2 in the anime adaptation because i just want to read it now. but what confused me is to what i should read, im not very knowledgable so i dont really know if there is a difference in the story contained in LN and the story contained in WN. because from what ive read so far, people say that LN and WN have a bit of different stories contain, so im not sure which one to follow, oh by the way, I want to read the one where the main character which is the shield hero ends up with raphtalia, or as long as he ends up with a female character but from what ive read from its tags it harem right? but then again, where do i read it hahaha im really confused.

WN: Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (WN) - Novel Updates

If you want to read the Light Novel, then you'll have to buy it. I believe the Anime is based on the LN version.

    @Beer_Kitty

OH so they were really different, from what i know, the manga only has 74 chapters i guess? which is very behind i mean lacking? i dont know what word to use to describe it.

    1. but which is better to read, is it the LN or the WN?
    2. is the WN only a fanmade translation thats why it has a different story?
3 i want to know whether if it is in the LN or in the WN, where shield hero marries raphtalia or the others?

LMAO, im so confused as hell

The manga is already done with the Calmira arc.
    1. Its better to read the LN/Manga since its the source material for the upcoming anime.
    2. Webnovels/WN are made by the author himself, the translations are fan made so its all runs down if the translator knows japanese.
    3.
Naofumi(Earth) marries Raphtalia(Earth). Naofumi and Raphtalia became God-like or something in the WN. So they have different versions of themselves in different worlds, but all of them are Naofumi and Raphtalia.
this is based on the WN, no idea on the LN since im also just following the manga as of now.

WN are rough drafts of the author. While the LN are the polished and published ones. They are basically checked and guided by the publishers if the plot sells or the part of the story is good. So thw LN deviates from the WN.

Hi @Katakara123 what an interesting question you have. I have read the WN, LN up to volume 18 and am up to date with the manga and anime.

To sum it all up the LN is you best bet. However, to say that the anime or manga follow the LN is true but not true at all.

Certain thing have been changed and from what i can tell all three give a totally different vibe towards the story.

    1>
I far like the WN version of the character Naofumi because he was breath of fresh air to the whole isekai genre . In the original WN it feels like the story evolves around him and everyone else is playing supporting roles.

This is probably the main difference between it and the LN - as it expands on the role of other characters.

    2>

The anime and LN and Manga also try to make naofumi more hero like when in the web series he made it clear.

The queen's shadows and knights forced both Bitch and Trash on to their
    knees.
Bitch:"Stop it! Who do you think I am--"
    Trash:"That's right! This one is--"
Queen:"Aren't the both of you just an adventurer and a general?"
The queen suppresses their complaints by informing them of their place.
    Queen:"Prostrate yourselves."
Trash:"What, My queen! This one is--Stop it--This one will not bow! This
    one will never bow! nuoooooooooooo!"
Bitch:" Stop joking around! I will never kneel for this bastard! Iyaaaaaaaaa"
Trash and Bitch were surrounded by several people, forced to prostrate
themselves, and their heads are being rubbed against the ground.
A shadow in between the both of them speaks.
    Shadow:"Go ahead-"
    Trash:"Nuoooooooooooo!"
    Bitch:"Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
Trash and Bitch are yelling extremely loudly.
    Queen:" Shut them up!"
On the queens orders clothes are used to gag Bitch and Trash.
    Trash:"Fumuuuuuuuuuu!"
    Bitch:"Muuuuuuuuuu!"
They are violently resisting with everything they have, but they are
    outnumbered and overpowered.
Shadow:"Please, Hero of the Shield-sama! Lend us your power!"
Shadow#2:"Hero of the Shield-sama, please fight for this country!"
Their voices are imitated by a shadow and such phrases were spoken.
    Queen:" How was that?"
Naofumi:" How was that you ask......."
Being asked like that while watching them kneeling on the ground by
force...... It is extremely refreshing, but......
Although it is refreshing, the request is a little......
Queen:"Maybe if you step on their heads?"
    Naofumi:" Oh!"
Oh damn, I didn't even think of that.
    Raphtalia:"Naofumi-sama"
I ignore Raphtalia's voice and trample on the Trash and Bitch's head.

<<Maybe Raphtalia wants me to be a hero that everyone respects.
It is regrettable, but I am part of the commoners.>>

It would be troublesome to be misunderstood as a saint. Well, where would
you find a commoner stepping on the head of a king?
    But I don't understand Raphtalia.
<<This degree of punishment is nothing compared to the humiliation I suffered.>>
So, at least give me this much.
By the way, I did not stop even though Raphtalia called out.
There was a time I thought Raphtalia was another Bitch as well.
There is no reason to support Trash and Bitch, they have been agonizing us
    until now. This is natural.

You can tell from the words he spoke that he doesn't consider himself a hero.

Another difference from (WN, Manga, LN) to the anime is the depiction of the Queen

In the (WN, Manga, LN) she is portrayed as a Vixen woman meaning a cunning fox in this case. And did she was. In the books and manga Naofumi really wanted the Trash and Malty dead, but not only did she change his mind she also convinced him into staying by making all other options seem more unpleasant then the kingdom he hated to the bone - now thats skill.

Look I can keep going on...
    - the fight with the spirit tortoise (WN and LN) different to Manga - in this case i recommend the LN, the battle was epic hope the anime doesn't short cut it.
    - The death of Malty (LN seems to happen in volume 19) (manga hasn't yet reached) (WN was satisfying)
-the creation of the rafu species (WN different from LN)
    -Naofumi becomes evil

    In conclusion my recommendation is
1> Full Immersion into the story
Read both starting with the WN (there is roughly 4450 pages)
Next read the manga to give visualization before taking on the books
    LN next
    Then watch the anime

2> Read LN and watch the Anime (Read chapters 32 and 31 of the manga if you don't have time to read it all)

I think it is good to read all versions from the start because it will be quite helping making you know multiple variations in story
but this is only if you have focus and willing to spend time on it serperately
because i think time is the most problematic when you read multiple novels the same time
if you are too fast you will get confused
and if you plan to go slowly and seperately curiosity will hold you down well this is my opinion so dont know is it works for you

You shouldn't depend too much on the anime, there's some parts and details not explained afterall in the anime counterpart so I greatly recommend you ro read it from scratch, also it's already finished
