So the author is bringing in the olympics too the story now, which makes sense with Rio. However, they are also showing their ongoing nationalist feelings by having a foreign referee who is making things hard for a Chinese athlete. I'm used to seeing South Koreans, Japanese and Americans as arrogant or evil villains in the Chinese stories I read, but this time it's an Australian. For context: I'm an Australian... And now I can understand how Americans feel reading about some random american in a novel being a arrogant so and so. Having said that, I mainly find it funny rather then insulting, and given recent events (refer Global times calling Austalia a paper cat and Mack Horton smack-talking a chinese swimmer at Rio) I can understand why we are finally being included. Any thoughts from other people? Especially if you are from a country that doesn't normally get this treatment?
I find it mildly upsetting that my countrymen/women will most likely never be featured as an antagonist in a chinese novel.
Yeah funny but its just getting too much sometimes. well author did get censored at one point. So stick it to chinese government too much brainwashing haha
