Hello all... whoever is reading this thanks in advance. I like writing and want to create my own novel, story, mostly fantasy, adventure kind of story. I need help with editing and stuff because it's hard to find my own mistakes, I write and Erase, and keep doing it. I can't illustrate no matter how hard I practice... The story I made is simple:- It's about the life of a wanderer, he follows the principal of his Master "Wanderer/adventurer is like air, they don't belong to a town, nation or place." Most of people reject him. He meets a girl who like little things mostly kids, in forest when he was doing his mission to escort someone special to capital. I don't know just how many arcs are there atm.... It's simply a tale of wanderer and whatever happens on his adventure. Different elements, past plays a roles. If anyone is interested than I can explain in more detail about it.... I'm 100℅ sure that people will like this story and will definitely enjoy it, that I can say with confidence. I don't know how to write Japanese, just know few words and honorifics, and I used them in my creation, they are easy to tell what kind of characters are and their personalities.
If you make other races that arent demi-human/beast kin, elves, dwarves, demon kin, vampires.. I might be interested. Im tired how novel always explain and use these types over and over despite it is supposed to be a fantasy genre that should think outside the box.
Im just tired of em.. everytime they introduce them to the story like how the reader would see them for the first time... I was like.. What?! These races again? Cant they make something original?

Illustration isn't important if you are writing. You just need a cover page and a title. It seems pretty good. Wanderer stories like 'Kino's Journey are nice. BTW it is getting a anime this season! Like a JP LN translation, huh? That sounds pretty good.
There is a good reason for that. Immersion is greatly helped by a reader having familiarity with what they are seeing. Otherwise you are forced to describe every little detail and multiple times for a person to get an image of the race and even that is not guaranteed as many readers just skim long descriptions. You can go around it with illustrations but that again complicates things and requires author know how to draw. It is same reason why authors tend to not make up their own genders either.
For the love of god please no. You should use english. I always find it cringy to read honorifics in english stories, and I am not alone in this

Just an fyi, that clip applies to western fantasy. Asian western fantasy novels follow a pretty different culture. There are similarities though because they are based on the same myths, but there are differences as well and quite a bunch of them. RoyalRoad is probably a better site for these things as it is more specialized than wattpad.
Hi Ryou, From the way you have described your novel, I have a few things to ask as they're not exactly clear. 1. You seem to want to use Japanese honorifics in your own original story. Honestly, it's a bad idea, unless a situation actually makes it necessary. Most of such honorifics are only present in Japanese translations due to the simple fact that they most often do not have direct representations in English language. Which no longer will be a case for you, since you will be the one writing it. 2. As some have already mentioned, your story sounds extremely generic from the vague information you have provided. There has been many adventurer/wandered stories out there already. What would make it actually unique/worth reading over all of those then? 3. As a writer you need to first decide on settings, theme, and general outline/aim of the story. Quite possibly also the target audience. Lastly, confidence is a good thing, but seemingly unfounded convictions are not
I only thought of using general words because I feel they will be easy explain character, because they have meanings, in English it's kind of hard to find words to describe relations. I have read some translation where translates used Japanese honorifics, in beginning I also hated that.... As for 2. That's the reason I want a team, more like editors or people. There's bad group, human nation, elf, demi-human, demon-kin, anyone can find this things in other Jap light novel what's different is I don't wanna use that Harem tag here, tired of those Harem. I will explain one thing... The reason he is hated by people is because he resembles the face of late Prince who died in the war but this guy is not a royalty... The people refer him as 'cursed prince' can't explain why they call him that right now. Even though Royal family members thinks of him as part of their family, he rejects them, what matters to him most is his mission, travels. He may think of fourth princess as his little sister and treats her when there's no crowd. This is info on main character.
First of all, it's not a matter of hating or liking the use of Japanese honorifics in English texts, but rather a matter of language consistency. If you plan on writing in any single language, there has to be a justified reason for using parts of another language. For example, a Japanese character being introduced, and honorifics being a part of their unique way of speech. And I'm sorry to say that, but from the looks of things, you want a group of people to prepare everything for you, and you will just write it down as a story. It doesn't sound like you have much planned at all, but rather that you just want people to make a writing plan and story background for you. That's not even editing, nor guidance at this point. You might want to search for some writing groups instead if you don't have many ideas on your own. Again, being tired of harems doesn't tell me anything in particular. It's just a part of a setting, not something that would have any bigger impact on the story. As a matter of fact, I still do not know how to possibly help you. My advice is for you to write down what you have in points, for your own use, maybe make a mind-map, and do some more research on the things that you want to write about. Politics, royalty, caste systems, etc etc are all worth learning more about, especially if you plan on writing about those. If you do that, you will find what you have, what you lack, what still needs to be thought about.
