If you do it carefully and do not rush, it's safe. If you try to iai draw or some other fast harder to control moves, yes, it can be dangerous. You're flailing around with an object designed to cut humans after all. Use common sense and keep your fingers / hands unmolested by your own stupidity. Try to show off and suffer.
If you suddenly pull out a katana IRL, or any bladed weapons, you may be arrested by the police. So yes, it's dangerous.
The katana is generally defined as the standard sized, moderately curved (as opposed to the older tachi featuring more curvature) Japanese sword with a blade length greater than 60.6 cm (23 1⁄2 inches) (Japanese 2 Shaku). Blade length: approx. 60–73 cm (23 5⁄8–28 ... Blade type: Curved, single-edged Type: Sword Mass: 1.1–1.3 kg sorry...my height is impossible to hold one LOLOLOLOLOLOL also 1.3 kg??? are you sure??? i once held a katana which weight more!!!
It is very dangerous if the person who pulls it out is the following: an SJW nagging Flat-Earth mother-in-law who lives in a van down by the river with Seymour, a Chris Walken-sounding and silent film-watching vegan cannibal zombie moose.
I like nonsensical things and mother-in-law jokes and reading about silent films, so that post combines all 3.
