I don't have anything against the above mentioned, welcome to the community. I'm an old reader that stopped reading for quite some time so I'm out of the loop of the happenings in the community. I used to remember there's a lot more of male targeted novel in the ranking, now it's more varied so i'm assuming there's a lot more girls now. I wonder what pulled them or you guys to this community?
When I joined the community of readers it was more out of boredom, at the time I had nothing to do and was in a state of extreme boredom so one day my friend recommended a manga to me, at first I had a certain prejudice against reading a romance instead of a manga because I thought it would be boring, but I ended up trying and as you can see I’m reading novels to this day.
I read all romances alike, 'straight' and not. Though, it's more humourous and interesting, to keep me on the edge of my seat, in my preference to read about a man getting into a car crash, only to switch bodies with the other person, wake up as a woman, and have to pretend to be said woman's wife to her husband. Delicious plot.
Nothing wrong with a female protag, there are some very famous ones out there, like Bakarina or "The Girl Who Ate A Death God". Some of them are pretty well written.
