is shushengbar down?

A year later and it seems like it's down again. Did somebody forget to pay for the domain or something? Hehehe. On a serious note, I hope it comes back.

 

Oh man. Hope it comes back soon. I need to check out new novels!!

 

It's still down for me. What is this site? What does it contain? Romance novels?

 

Yep, this appears to happen every August. Renewal time maybe? It's a listing (plus some reviews) of Chinese novels. It also has a pretty lengthy listing of which ones are translated. Just romance novels, though, I think. I was going to go there for some recommendations for a friend but I'll give it a few days.

Shushengbar is a wonderful site that provides recommendations of novels and lengthy reviews/spoilers on some. It is a community where fans and readers of Chinese novels talk and share about their favorite novels.

 

It's still down. Could it be that this is permanent?

Wait 'til after August, seems to happen around this time of year all the time.

 

I really hope so, it's one of the best sites around.

Well, it's September now and it's still down. I fear this is goodbye, shushengbar.

 

There are some news from the shushengbar admin peanut.
"I’ve received a few messages asking about Shushengbar. I am the administrator for that website but I am not the owner !!! The owner is Chancy who has been paying the hosting and domain name fees without putting any ads. If I remember correctly, these few days will be the website’s 6th anniversary. I suspect Chancy might have forgotten to pay the domain name renewal fees so the website is down. I’ve emailed her but still no response from her. You’ll just have to wait patiently for her to sort it out since I am powerless to do anything. I can’t even migrate that website to be hosted free of charge by WordPress or pay the fees on her behalf " (aug 7, hui3r.wordpress. com)

"Update: Shushengbar is still inaccessible because I still cannot get hold of the owner I’ll keep on trying and hopefully everything can be saved and will be back to normal soon." (aug 20)
Hope the owner comes back from MIA.

Hmm if there is a web admin, they should have backups of the website. Hopefully, even if the shushengbar.com domain is down, they can buy shushengbar.org or similar and restore it there.

 

One of the admins (Peanut) wrote on her blog she was able to contact the owner who turned out to have changed her email and so the owner didn't get renewal email. In short, they're going to select a new domain since the other domain got taken up by Barnes & Noble and the admins are discussing over it.
So shushengbar (not sure how it will be call later) will probably be back soon.

Any news? It's been a while. It doesn't take that long to put a website back up if you have a backup, which the admins should have.

 

I hope the site comes back.

Anyone knows how to convert pages from web archive into a full website backup?
