Although not all, but many, to the point that it is becoming a common trend for transmigratior from the 21 century to somehow end up in an ancient time period and is able to use so many skills. If the unfortunate me have the bad luck of being a transmigrator, I’ll end up being in the beggar class. There is nothing or almost nothing in this time n age that I would be able to convert over n make a living off—not even make up. In America, many people use the computer but don’t know how to build one; people ride a car but don’t know anything about its engineering; don’t even talk about farming—a lot of people can’t even bucther a chicken or have a clue where their food comes from; with the internet, information is at a click that some people, like me, don’t even bother to memorize receips; how do I even make a fire or cook without pots n pans; my bed is a mattress, not a wooden bed; I eat three meals a day and that cant be bargain; and yea the list goes on. But the most important factor is language. The further you go back in time, well—language change. So, forget about even communicating before someone sell me into slavery fooling me into thinking they are so kind. What do you think would happen to you if you transmigrated to a time period of your culture or nation? Oh, if you’re a mix and doesn’t quite look like the parents who born you or the people of your culture—good luck trying to get the ancient people to help you. After all, you’ll turn out to be an exotic good. N if the ancient people smell bad, well good luck dealing with that too.
You can have knowledge at just a search in google now. You can amass knowledge and everything but still require the items to make it. While it's all good in theory, it's a pain to do it irl.

It depends on what you mean by smarter... You can't compare generations tbh, because every future generation is able to learn from what the past generation has learned, and they are aware of all of their mistakes and can correct them. For example, Einstein is very smart, one of the most knowledgeable men born in the 20th century, but I would wager there are people born in the last 40-50 years that knew more about physics than he did. Since not only do we have his knowledge at hand to teach the newer generations, we also have new information like string theory etc that did not exist during his life. Plus, the newer generations are able to learn things more efficiently, by off-loading a lot of "useless" knowledge and just knowing how to find said information when it's actually needed. Nowadays, you can find information on how to do pretty much everything from building a car from scratch, to building a nuclear reactor in your backyard. (Would not suggest that last one) Hell, you can even build an electromagnetic railgun if you wanted to, it's not even that hard if you know how to google and have a basic understanding of science....GL asking a random person born in the late 1800s if they even knew what that was, let alone if they knew how to build one. Personally, I have a lot of "free time" while I'm working, so I end up spending many hours looking at random videos and learning how to do various things, so I guess I would be a little more fortunate than a beggar class, but no way in fuck would I have the picture perfect memory a lot of these Isekai MC's have....
Well it is pure fantasy. And contrary to the knowledge all of the MCs have, they usually behave like idiots anyway. From that you can see that they are just dummies, which the author stuffed with knowledge he had looked up on wikipedia.
I'm diabetic, so if I went back in time before insulin I'd be dead in a day. As for whether next generation is smarter, I'd say most are idiots who believe everything they read on the internet. I remember the start of the internet and it's roots. Those being porn and selling illegal goods without anyone being able to trace you. You know, the good old days.
I can say with 100% accuracy I can and have prepared both a chicken and Cow from farm to table~ other stuff? I can build a computer but not from nothing, same goes with a car~ Most likely with isekai or something similar, dumped in a forest with no way of knowing north from east or west from south, no food to eat, no water to drink. no tools to protect or kill. because you can't be certain the planet functions as ours does or even holds the same laws of physics even starting a fire with the know how from our world could end in Nuclear fission or something terrible, let alone using a needle and floating leaf as a compass. so I'd be eaten by a beast, or lost in a forest, then diead from starvation, or died from dehydration, or my camp fire fissioned me out of existance, or the beast i barely mange to kill (small beastie like rabbit probably) has far more toxic internals than our animal do and I die of a disease I don't know.
I guess it would be possible to achieve a lot with the knowledge from future because even the highschool level information (if, of course, said person is above average in his/her studies) is a lot but not at the level of transmigration novels where you can get gunpowder from the fart residue that has penetrated into the house walls. That is of course if one can avoid being killed or dying of hunger. Plus you'll have historical knowledge too if you were to transmigrate into the known world's past which is a big thing. You can try to avoid possible death zones or buy bitcoin when it was like 10 cents and get rich...

Lol, you are getting ahead of yourself. List for transmigration only includes those smart people, not dumb people ... So no need to start learning few survival skills unless u r a jap ... (well in that case u will most likely get a skill from God so no worries there as well)
Well... I definitely can't make stuff like computers, engines or even toasters, but I might be able to make a simple battery and impress people with that or sell it... Other than that, I would say my best bet would be to capitalise on my high mathematical knowledge (relative to medieval) somehow. If it came down to fighting, well while i've never really exercised or trained my body i'm still in no way fat, and slightly above average physically... P.S. realistically, if we went to another world, we'd be KOed by the local diseases we have no resistance to~ (Except for me, in all likelihood. I don't really get sick...)
