Is there a way for youtube to play at lowest resolution available?

I am using Firefox, desktop. While Youtube HD add-on can set it to 144p, it doesn't work when the lowest is 240p.

To be honest, if it is possible to disable the video and use the audio only on Firefox, I will be really grateful.

The only thing that comes to my mind is downloading the video as an mp3 through sites like http://www.youtube-mp3.org/

 

"audio-only youtube" addon for firefox should work atleast the chrome extension works, but it does it for all tabs so might not be what you are looking for

 

have you checked the firefox plug ins that you can get free from the plug in site , even the had plugs have a lowest settings etc , you just be using the plug in , in reverse to the normal , i use chrome myself and the magic actions for you tube abd inc's a settings for

There is one for chrome. I don't use chrome myself, though. That's why I specified firefox above.
