Question Is this a Chinese Idiom or a marketing phrase?

    On the back of the GPD XD+ box you can find a phrase that seems to translate to "when you smile the world loves him when you laugh the world fears him".

    I was just interested, is this a real Chinese Idiom or just a marketing phrase?

    Marketing phrase. A Chinese Idiom would be something like: "A unit of time is worth a unit of gold, but a unit of gold cannot buy a unit of time." Chinese idioms tend to usually explain a moral or a lesson within the sentence itself. And thus, the above is for marketing only.

    What I'm confused about is why they translated '它' as 'him' rather than 'it'.
