    Seriously, I thought this was suppose to be about fighting Extra-Dimensional Demon Puppets.
    Why are they still on a story arc that is more a Filler than anything else?

    Yup, still School battle arc!
    And its because most readers tend to enjoy these arcs more
    that's also why they appear alot in web novels that have schools in them~

    Does it really need to run this long though?! Its almost 2/3 of the story at this point.

    Well another thing that could make it run this long could be the author still has no idea how to write the rest of the plot and is stalling by using this arc to buy time

    Yes it was. Just recently it started again. They might have moved to a monthly magazine after a few new chapters.

    1. It was on hiatus for a few years. That's why it feels like it's been on this stuff for so long.

    2. It isn't filler. This is the plot. The mc's team is new and so they realistically wouldn't be selected to go to the another world. That's why this competition to improve their rating is important. Especially since aside from Kuga and new guy who are very skilled, the others wouldn't be able to participate due to lack of skill and combat experience otherwise.
