Welp my country decided to call for Emergency state despite only being around 71 cases, so now I'm trapped in my home. Funny enough only 2 cases in my city the majority is in the capital
Its good that they are responding quickly. My country shut down 4 days ago. Borders are closed, no gatherimg of 100+ people and everyone is being urged strongly to stay inside.
Meanwhile over here, over 400 cases and counting but still nothing. They are all busy with meetings after meeting deciding what to do. edit, 553 and counting... oh well. The saddest thing is when I see people still going to mosque for their daily prayers. Acting like god would protect them against the virus. *sigh.
Most countries are now letting the virus in, but slowing down their spread. So, it's basically a done deal for everyone to get the virus at some point of our life and relying on our immune system to completely heal. Just like Chicken pox.
hmmm for land based country it kinda reasonable for lockdown~ people kinda easy go from point a to point b~ ma~ each country have different circumstances which beyond common cat can grasp so who knows~ lockdown one city just one day need plenty of preparation~ lockdown entire country need more preparation~ just imagine how many thing to consider make this cat sleepy~ logistic, communication, public safety, economy impact for short and long term, public trust, electricity, water and gas availability, potential emergency case such as fire or natural disaster..... ugeh long live peble!
Already in my 2nd day of staying in the house. Bored already after buying all the supplies we need. We got new cases and some people in the capital are still going out for work. Mine doesn't stop coz emails, Skype and Messenger were invented
Australia has gone into lockdown, here's an interesting tidbit, we are not equipment for a full blown pandemic.
No one is actually. The number of potential infected can easily overwhelm any healthcare system. One thing to remember about this Covid-19, the infectious stage is asymptomatic, which means that you are already infectious even without showing symptoms. Your government may SAY 71 people infected but the number of people really infected and not showing symptoms and are still spreading the bug around is definitely way higher since there is no way of detecting them until they start sneezing. And by then it's too late, they have already been passing it around.
New Zealand is getting serious. Thankfully no deaths, 8 cases and two probable. Here is the latest information if anyone is interested. https://www.health.govt.nz/news-media/media-releases/covid-19-no-new-cases-16-march Community is getting onboard I think and being sensible. \o/ Government seems to be sensible. \o/ Hopefully we can slow it down enough that our health system will not be overwhelmed. \o/ Our flu season is coming up so it's even more important we try not to have this novel virus run rampant through the country...I'd hate to be in the position of some of the overwhelmed hospitals. The stories are horrific for the patients as well as the staff. Be sensible; Stay safe @RickyTheKind You might be interested in this post of mine about eating cheap if your paycheck is getting docked. https://forum.novelupdates.com/thre...tives-to-instant-noodles.101421/#post-5479966
Actually more people have died by isolating themselves at home. It's weird. I don't know the reason why but that's what statistics says
Watch this video, it's quite informative: The general moral I got from this is that the exponential growth of something like the corona virus is unintuitively fast, but also very sensitive to preventative measures. You may see it as only 71 cases, but since the growth is exponential that is the same thing as being only a few months until you are at the same level as somewhere like Italy. Except the preventative measures put in place by your government will drastically reduce the number of cases and probably save many lives.
