    It is unavoidable, but since it's Qidan and what they release will be in website version, I just hope we will still be able to read the novel.
    It's more like how naver publish webtoon rather than yenpress. The worst that could happen is that we need to wait until all chapter are re-translated. The best scenario is that could happen is that they will cooperate with the current translator.

    If tencent would release their own english version of those novels, all the better. Most chinese translations we get nowadays use MTL anyway. A few use MTL, didn't fix it to make it more readable, yet have the cheek to ask for donations.

    Not really not wuxiaworld at least: from what I know all the novel translations on wuxiaworld have been authorised by the authors. IF I'm not confusing things the authorisations are part of Ren priorities, now that he is managing wuxiaworld full-time

    Is this going to happen to the WN translations? I thought DMCA mostly hits the LN. I am not sure on that though.
    edit: I forgot some of the CN are in places like Kindle where its free if you subscribe to the website does that factor into the issue also?

    Ever since yesterday an user in reddit has been proposing ideas of English serialising chinese Web novels company. Could it be a test sent by Qidan to see the general market before they start or what? Cuz I am sensing something lurking or maybe it is just me

    .... I was making an Alice in Wonderland reference, about how when she went down the rabbit-hole, and how she went to a crazy world with weird and crazy things, but in my case, it was reddit .... so yeah... major time drain....

    Not quite. Most of the work on wuxiaworld has the consent of the author. Plus once they plan on making English chapters, wuxiaworld world would be a great resource as it has a rather decent standard of translation. All in all, if they plan on making an English site, It is more likely they will try to integrate existing translations and just professionally edit them.


    All in all I don't see wuxiaworld just dying out, rather I think It just might be bought outright.

    what if those companies approach each of the heavenly rank chinese author like iet or tjss and succesfully bought their royalties and lawfull rights/consent.. even wuxiaworld will still be forced to bring down their translated works right?

    Most authors sold the copyright to their novel to the publisher, so even if you have the consent of the author, it doesn't mean you have the consent of the copyright holder.
