Yes she is that kind of girl, she even targeted the Emperor, Ria's brother to rose to he throne and wants the Princess to be dragged out and suffer on her end. I hate her as well so much! I want to slap her!!! Essen little by little shows doubt about her due to her sudden change not only in attitude but also her whole personality drastic change as so as the Princess, to the point that he thinks that they've both become a different person- well Essen, shows care and jealousy over the other ML's towards Ria, since season 2 started but not yet realized on his own self that he is literally falling in love with her. ♥

I think I got here too late as I postponed reading this novel/manhwa for way too long due to it being angsty and all but thank you for all the spoilers! Apparently yes, he does. From spoilers I read, he doesn't make an appearance towards the end but it is implied that she had children with him which means he does survive and stays with her
