I was surprised when it ended, though I guess it was a fitting point to end. Not an open ending but can't call it fully closed either. I would've loved a few more conversations with characters like the Emperor of Northern Qi or Haitang or Sizhe, those were fun. Actual conversations. The last chapter have a leisurely feel though, very fitting for Fan Xian. And pointed in a few directions to gave it a bit more closure. That aside, this novel had a remarkable protagonist, great major and minor characters, fun dialogue, nice plot and I'll gladly forgive it the minor gripes I had. Especially the contrast in mindset was well utilized in the storyline and character interactions and it's something I haven't seen a single other author on here do so well yet in a transmigration story. I'll probably read through it again in a year, it'll be the second I revisit after Martial Arts Master.
