I understand that it literally translates into something like "Love is love but love hope" but, it doesn't make much sense to me as it is. I have to assume that it is some sort of colloquialism that I'm not understanding. I've included the surrounding text and my own translation of that text too to, hopefully, make it easier to answer my question. Also, any critiques on the lines I have already translated are welcome! love can mean many thing, like a love for your daughter, love for your family, but what angelica wants is the love for her as a romantic interest Keisuke gave her the gift as a method of showing a love for their family, not in any romantic way, but angelica is pushing the narrative that it is a romantic gift because its a show of affection in hopes for some romance between them.

its very hard to translate it without leaving the original cuteness of that sentence (at least to me) 'love is love but im hoping for romantic loveeeeeee' ... ← literally translated edit : uh, for explanation, as far as i know adding 'kibou' to their sentences means they wanted it to be that way and i vaguely remember reading several sentences like that. eg: im doing this but do you have anything else in mind? -> 'xxxx kibou' ; 'xxx kibou desu'
