Probably by consciously or unknowingly we are healed by our surroundings like from nature as rain,
from books, (trying to learn from books by sleeping on them),
from coffee (at mrngs)
from grassy field's
But how?
A:
U can say by fragrance or basically by smelling
Sweet Smell from rain called : petrichor
Soothing fragrance book called: Biblichor
Aroma from coffee called : Bouquet
Windy grass smell : green leaf volatiles
And there are more.......
Attention ::
brain that processes smell has direct links with parts that are involved in emotion and memory which leads to nostalgia

 

Sometimes smell from books really make me sleepy there are even names I don't know them lol

 

I like the smell of grass hmm
Or smell from fresh yugioh cards

 

books and rain (not together though) for the win, coffee smell upsets my stomach, but there are other smells that i enjoy too.

 

It's hard for me to choose because I like the three options. It made me relax, comfortable and reguvenate.

 

I agree with this, once I was bought new books just to smell it, well the story is quite good too

My favorite smell is the fragrance of detergent. I don't know if all detergent smell like that, but the brand my mother uses smells the best. I still remember opening the container when I was taking a bath when I was really young and being mesmerized by the smell, I just sat there for a whole hour just keeping the top up against my face and entering nirvana.

...but if you're talking about some natural stuff, something less uncommon that makes me relax, well it's definitely tea. Tea smells the best when you want to relax.

Smell of wood and metal on a sunny day, the railways... I guess? Some UK underground tube stations also have that smell. Maybe it has nothing to do with the sun or wood but some chemicals on the rails? In any case I really feel nostalgic when I come across that smell

 

Smell can also bring memories with emotions i think??... XD

 

Hanging out on the balcony while it's raining is the best for me, also while listening to music. Watching the rain calms me down.

The smell of carbon monoxide is pretty nice and healing too. Lol

 

smell of tea, flower or plants, wood, and newly washed bed sheets is great~
what else... oh I find the smell of nature after the rain is refreshing~ (not in the rain, I can't smell anything...)
though I love any citrus smell, especially from the fruit skin~!
