A bunch of reasons:

• His family could be taken hostage
• His actions will be restricted further
• It will disrupt the current system
• Knowing that humans can produce an energy that works as a substitute for the scarce photon energy some extremists might resort to human sacrifice

There might be more, but those are the ones I could think of right now.

 

I thank Neo for their continued hard work but is the author even working on this anymore? All that hard work trying to understand the story and it was never completed would be sad.

 

I just checked and it looks like the author posts one chapter per month, the most recent one being released a couple days ago.

 

Well that's . . . slow to the point of sad but I guess I can't complain. At least it's better than Slave Harem in Another World where author puts out 1 a year if we're lucky.
