The manga only use the first volume of the novel. The reason is there a complete light novel that is without translator for 2 years. Yes and no. Yes he is strong from the start. However that is because of the insane training his master made him do. Spoiler: Why he is strong actually we don't know exactly why he is strong. He trained with the strongest swordia and is said he killed her. However he doesn't remember the duel and when he woke up he was stronger I am seeing that all the pickup requests have a chinese, Japanese, korean tag next to the title.
