People sometimes say that you should spend a little extra for anything that goes between the ground and yourself (shoes, bed, chair, etc), and things that you use a lot. Many people here spend a lot of time using a computer, especially people who translate and/or write, so unless you're using a phone, you're probably using a keyboard.

So, what keyboard do you use? It is something default/cheap that gets the job done, or is it something expensive? Or, of course, something in the middle. What do you like about it? Do you prefer standard size (with numpad) or tenkeyless?

I'm currently using a Ducky Shine with MX browns.

For daily use I use the laptop provided one.. However when I need to type for a long period of time I use an old type keyboard from Logitech.. I've been using it for too long that it kind of weird to type without it...

I also want to buy a mechanical gaming keyboard one day if I get enough cash Hahaha...

But you should add a question @AicilaXI and it's about the mouse.. I think sometimes people can stay with their laptop keyboard but have expensive gaming mouse instead..

Depends on the laptop. Macbooks use domes I think, but other laptops use scissors. I'm not too good with laptop keyboards, so I'll just add an option to make it easier.
Mice are nice, but I was targetting this thread more at heavy typers in comparison to gamers, considering I'd consider this forum to be more reading/writing/translating oriented. If people also want to discuss their mouse, it's ok. But I don't want this to turn into a 'post your setup' thread.

    Logitech g500 mouse?

I used to use a4tech x7 for around 6 years but then it broke and the new one doesn't support win 10 they say so I got Logitech g300s as replacement.. Not really used too a lot of buttons but it was comfortable enough..

People in the gaming community keep talking about Mechanical keyboards but I just can't stand the noise. If you ever watch some League of Legends streamer they'll always talk about how great this or that sponsored mechanical keyboard is...

No, a G5. It's the one from before the G500. I bought it in 2005 I think, or 2006. Still does a good job.
MX Blues are so loud :D Do you have a Cherry keyboard, or a different keyboard with MX blues?
Some switches are much louder than others (e.g blues). You can get o-rings or something to make them more quiet too. Not all mechs are incredibly loud.

A cherry one, they are really loud. You can't buy mx blues if you live with someone in the same room ^^

I'm using a $10 Logitech keyboard. Needless to say, it's using the viscoelastic sheets to detect keypresses. The only cons are that you can't hit certain key combinations in Stepmania, but the pros are that if I spill a ton of shit on my keyboard it's really easy to clean. This thing is basically invincible.

I use a logitech g15 keyboard here. An old gaming keyboard but still works fine and backlit keys are quite nice for late night typing in the dark

I got a Steelseries SHIFT keyboard for when my previous laptop had some keys stop working, but when I got a new laptop, I just kept on using it and a Cooler Master to put my laptop on, so it's at a better height now.
