I would usually just look through the genre tags and find out what I'm looking for. However I've already done so and pretty much read all I want to read from it. I'm looking for a story that has Kingdom Building as the principal theme or plays where it plays a large part if the storyline. Domestic affairs is fine as well. I am looking for kingdom building novels that are either chinese or korean. Please no Japanese novels as I cant stand the amount of beta male protagonists that seem to exist in Japanese novels. Korean has to be translated already into english but Chinese novels can be raw as long as the chinese name is written in chinese and english when you make your recommendations. I've recently started reading MTL and either my brain has twisted the right way to understand or there are some really good MTL versions out there. I will list below what I have read and maybe it will serve as a guide for other people seeking the same types of novels. Also no female protagonists please, I find it hard to relate; especially when there's romance involved. Same for yaoi. Chinese ●Human Emperor ●Hail the King ●Black Irons Glory ●Tales of Reincarnated Lord ●The Amber Sword ●My Father in Law is Lu Bu ●The Defeated Dragon (not the best tbh) ●Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World (waiting for this to finish before I pick it back up) ●Mediterranean Hegemon of Ancient Greece (the MTL quality is ok) ●My Third Reich (MTL quality is good) ●Holy Roman Empire (MTL quality is good) ●Doom Lord ●My Doomsday Territory ●I am the God of Games ●City of Sin ●King of German Mercenaries (MTL is ok) ●Rise of the European Emperor (kinda boring around chapter 1000) ●Lord of Magical Beasts ●I Have a Mansion in the Post-apocalyptic World ( the ending felt a bit sudden though) ●The Lords Empire ●Gamers of the Underworld ●Low Dimensional Game ●Release the Witch ●The World Online (if there is a sequel please provide the name or link. I really enjoyed this one) ●Advent of the Archmage ●World of Cultivation (not really what I'm after but listed for other readers) ●Cthulhu Gonfalon ●God and Devil World (not my cup of tea due to the HEAVY racism but still read it) ●Mediterranean Hegemony Road (MTL quality is good) Korean ●I am the Monarch ●Empire of the Ring ●Dimensional Sovereign ●Survival Records of 3650 Days in the Otherworld ●Seouls Stations Necromancer Looking forward to your recommendations.
Cosma Empire on comrademao Eternal country The Empress's Gigolo Immortal Everlasting Immortal Firmament
Age of Cosmic Exploration if you can stomach pretty much bulls*it from the author and racism that makes ww2 germany looks tollerant
At least the author isn't a pervert. Magic industry Empire doesn't have useless explanations but you have to deal with the pervert author who claims not be interested in underaged girls but spends an entire paragraph describing their figure
Youjo Senki Arslan Senki i know they are japanese but the protagonists are in no way beta. just give it a try
Currently reading it and I'm on chapter 70+. I dunno the characters of Amber and Rebecca just annoy the heck outta me, especially Amber.
The female characters in most novels are pathetic because they are not realistic. At least this author doesn't seem to be a pervert and/pedophile who keeps describing nude girls under 13 I am just tired of the pointless explanations of magic. If magic is 1 +1 = 2 then it is no longer magical but boring mathematics. We want to read about explosions not a chemistry class
I'm hoping they improve later on with Amber going the intelligence gathere route and Rebecca the scientist route later on P. S On an unrelated note there is this Military Strategy Chinese Novel called "The Human Emperor" that's also great if your get past the Racism and Stuff
IKR I was also thinking if they dumb it down a little on the theorycrafting it would be great. Right now there is no difference between this and the normal filler that is usually out there in my perspective
In magic, 1 + 1 = 3 . That is why its magic Sadly, some authors forget it. Given that many Chinese webnovel authors have Ph.Ds in science subjects, it is not really a surprise to be honest
步步生莲 (Lotus Blossoms at Every Step) 回到明朝当王爷 (Return to Ming) These books take place during the Song and Ming dynasties respectively and they are some of the very best historical novels I've ever read. They deal with the subject of governing and of politics and of social systems in incredible detail; even more so than you'd see in "King of Mercenaries". As an added bonus, these books also have some of the best female characters you'll see anywhere. The main caveat is that I don't know if reading them through MTL is going to work that well. For a Prosperous World This book is a little less about kingdom building than the others I'm writing about but it's still a significant part of the story. It has some of the most poignant writing and heartfelt characterization out there. I'm always on the lookout for these kinds of books. What on the list of Chinese novels would you consider a standout?
I've recently started to enjoy the colonial era types novels just because its something a little bit different from the usual isekai or system novels. I would recommend Holy Roman Empire which seems to be the sequel to Mediterranean Hegemony Road but just better written and more plausible.
