I’ve recently finished reading Iron dynasty and fairly enjoyed it. I’m looking for kingdom building where MC is in absolute control of his own territory.
Technology gap is a huge +
    No simp

Can you spoil Otaku Engineer in the Tang Dynasty for me? What should I expect other than mc inventing things. I had a glimpse at the chapter titles of it and it seems mC is still be ruled by the emperor. Is he being boss around and sucking up to all officials and emperor throughout the whole novel?

Don’t know why I can’t seem to be into Im King of Technology no matter how hard I tried. I don’t even mind reading most machine translated novels, but after multiple attempts I still cant read that novel even tho it has most of what I want to read.

Tbh I stopped reading it around the time the MTL chapters started doing this weird doubling thing where the chapters would also repeat in choppy ways.
He's currently the highest ranking duke with the most land and prestige, he owns the media and the education system outright and the majority of the trade routes inside china, and the treasury.
Dude is really asking the question "Why would you want to be Donald Trump when you could be Charles Koch instead?". The Tang Dynasty is huge, the many vassals aiming to be emporer wouldn't be pleasant for him to deal with so having Li Er there to soak up intrigue and paperwork for him is his ideal situation and I agree with that on a fundamental level. I think I feel this way because I'm also reading enlightened empire on Royal road. The BS that the MC has to put up with as a king of a large country instead of as a powerful vassal is insane. He rarely has time to settle one thing before another "fire" pops up. I feel that a lot of Kingdom building novel that let's a teenager take over a whole country when his parents are basically peasants/ non existent are a pretty silly. Hell even Charlemagne needed Charles Martel to pave his way for him.
