Not really. I think a little knowledge about a topic can be more poisonous then having complete knowledge about a subject. Also having little wisdom( what your calling intelligence) doesn't mean you will utilize said knowledge poorly. What will truely be the the determining factor if a piece of knowledge is poisonous is the person's personality and moral compass.

Concept of intelligence is too self judged to be a good measure of "poisonous or not" knowledge. Also, question comes with a premise of "the right way to approach knowledge". Arrogant x 10. So nope.

It’s just these typical JP protagonist don’t think about the consequences. It’s been a long time that I’ve read a good Isekai that does it right

What manga is your picture? Looks like Danchigai

Knowledge is better than nothing. Even if you don't have the capabilities to conduct critical thinking, at least you would have general knowledge to survive (as long as this knowledge is true and helpful). You don't need to understand the science behind why condoms are effective against diseases or pregnancy, just have the knowledge that they do. You don't need to understand what makes literary classics important, you just need to be aware of what they've accomplished. You don't need to understand why you shouldn't jump into the lion pit in a zoo, you just need to know that you can't.

It's true that being stupid and given false or inflammatory information is a very bad combination (ex. anti-vaccination people or The Red Scare), but if stupid people are given correct information and knowledge to live a kind, fruitful life then I don't think it's poison.

Then again this is a forum post and I've literally only thought about it for 5 minutes

    Knowledge is not medicine.

Medicine can cure those if used properly, but if you incorrectly it can easily become poison.

Knowledge is something else entirely, it can be both poison and medicine, but neither of these property can be used without an ounce of intelligence.

You don't need intelligence to use knowledge. You need the social concept of intelligence to judge whether or not you've applied it properly. Intelligence has no place in whether you can use, do, or think knowledge.

I'm sorry, but I'm getting confused here, are you equating intelligence with morality?

Nope. I see idea of intelligence as a social construct or as a term that's defined by society. It's not a required component. Ehhh, I just made a convoluted statement to disagree with your idea of needing intelligence to use knowledge.

I think having knowledge is better than being ignorant. Even if you don't know how to use it.
What matters is how you use that knowledge itself.

    My theory here.
If you have foreknowledge but nothing lead into said knowledge and you're outside the range of intelligence necessary to find these missing link you're more likely to make a futile efforts in trying.

In example mortality. So we all know how it's eventually ends but what can you do about it ? If you're less intelligent you'll most likely push it into the back of your head conveniently ignored or forgotten, if you have enough intelligence to understand why you should find a way out you'll likely try to find the solutions but if your intelligence or insight are less than what's the effort require you'll make a futile efforts.

So it's a never ending concerns, worry, and struggle for the intelligent but not into geniuses.
    You're more happy being ignorant.

It's not intelligence that matters. it's common sense. You can be as intelligent as you want but without common sense, you will turn the world into a laboratory because you think humans suck. You can be the most intelligent person in the universe, but without common sense, you suck.
